Nintendo of America put third-generation Xenoblade Chronicles X fandom into haywire with a late-night tweet. The tweet read: `Good night, gamers! Don’t let the bed tyrants bite. 😴 #XenobladeChroniclesX` alongside a suitably moody screenshot from this cult-classic Wii U RPG. The replies got completely mad.

First of all, what is a “bed tyrant”? Is it one of those deep-cut Xenoblade references only the most degenerate fans are privy to? Or is knocking from Nintendo to Pine in the late hours? This tweet summoned an immediate barrage of replies, and a whopping ninety percent were about it. Exactly. The mythical Nintendo Switch 2.

It’s not just fans questioning but now they’re outright begging for this next-gen upgrade. One asked entreatingly, “Switch 2 patch? 60fps?”. Another remarked wittily, “Me, waiting for The Xenoblade Games to get a Switch 2 Upgrade,” with an infinite amount of patience. Some won’t even touch the game until the remaster is confirmed. “I played a few hrs but decided to hold off till a Switch 2 free upgrade🙃🤞,” confessed one hopeful gamer.

But these are just performance pleas. It’s hype; it’s nostalgia; it’s loud and straight-up demands. “Hello Nintendo, may I please have a graphics and fps update for not just Xenoblade X but for 1, 2, and 3 as well?” begged one fan, to which another cheerfully responded, “Cannot wait for my flight module!”

And then came the… interesting perspectives. “Nintendo can’t brick your emulator,” stated one user smugly, while another yelled a threat, “You got to fix your mindset. Being greedy will only send people to Steam deck and Xbone.” Oof.

But in all seriousness, Xenoblade Chronicles X is that type of game that should be reborn. Released on the dying Wii U, it never achieved deserved popularity; a Switch port or, better still, a Switch 2 version, is something fans have been yoked on for years.

So, Nintendo… are you guys teasing here? Or are you just messing with us? The cry has been made loud, clear, and very passionate. Perhaps it is time for Mira’s deserving makeover.

At least we now have a trending meme. “Bed tyrant was my middle name in high school,” joked one user. Same, seriously.

For now, all of us can do is wait, hope, and maybe replay Xenoblade X for the tenth time just in case.
