Nintendo has thrown a cryptic tweet at the fans of Xenoblade Chronicles X, making the fans go crazy. The replies with all sorts of gibberish are truly an outrage. The official Nintendo account posted a screenshot of this cult favorite on Wii U, with the cryptic caption: “You’d tell us if there was something behind us…right? 🙂 #XenobladeChroniclesX” And like suddenly, requests, jokes, and desperate cries for a Switch 2 port began flooding it.
Speaking of tweets, classic Xenoblade Chronicles X moment you’re out in Mira’s vast open world, minding your own while a level 80 Tyrant sneaks up on you right out of a horror movie. The almost ridiculous vibes of that particular tweet have sent fans down a rabbit hole: Is Nintendo going somewhere with this? Or are they just toying with us? Judging by the responses, the community certainly means business on this.
And the most visible theme again? Switch 2 upgrades. The fans are begging for Xenoblade Chronicles X to have a next-gen upgrade. Another one pleading, user @Pancakebowl: “Best game. Please release a switch 2 patch for Xenoblade Chronicles X.” Others, such as @matchapansuki, are hoping for a Switch 2 better version before getting the game. “Will this game run better on switch 2? Debating if buying it this year or wait.”
Data miners enter the conversation shortly after. @KittVtuber cited concealed files in the Wii U version providing an indication at least that the uncapped framerate mode is not that far from being implemented, witch would be just what this port for Switch 2 requires. The scene was very exciting, as Nintendo maintained silence while fans gave their screams to the emptiness.
But performance isn’t just what the replies concern. It is a mixed bag of nostalgia, irritation, and absurdity. @MitriTojo went full meltdown: “Nigga where the fuck is my pre-order I have like ♾️ hours of gameplay and subscription I’ve been waiting for days and I sold my PlayStation for this 😭😭😭” (We’ve all been there, buddy.) Meanwhile, @WhyLife3434 demanded really specific: “REMOVE THE CENSORSHIP AND RESTORE THE BREAST SLIDER.” Yeah… that exists.
Other times, we just get chaos. @JoeyCraighead shot: “Me running away from Nintendo after seeing the Mario Kart World price tag.” @brucejdsx followed up: “My Ovah is tingling.”Because, why not? And @Digidark25 gave the perfect callback to a horror movie moment: “Oh wait, he’s behind you…”
Meanwhile, the hardware hats complain with every retort: @BreathOfTheMike wants small Switch 2 cart so games can be shipped for less; @IceFroBerg gore-shrieked his command: “Make games physical please!!!” And as for the Switch 2 invites, @ItzToastyKing is left in misery: “Didn’t get my switch 2 invite in the email 😔.”
Amid all this confusion lies the undying love for Xenoblade Chronicles X. @brucejdsx (once again, king of chaotic replies) defended the game’s combat: “The combat system is IMO the best. Very smooth and high paced system with limitless customization.” @wallace_navarro, on the other hand, showed their over-180-hour save as a badge of honor.
So what is the takeaway? Either Nintendo’s tweet was the cruelest tease of all or the cruelest joke. Fans are desperate for Xenoblade Chronicles X onto Switch 2, with upgrades, the uncensored sliders, and maybe even a physical release. Till then, we will be staring at that Tyrant hanging in the background… waiting.
As @NiaForSmash said best: “Btw I love these posts, don’t stop doing them🙏” Same, Nia.
