Animal Crossing: New Horizons features a recreation of one of the most iconic (and horrifying) sequences from Se7en. Animal Crossing: New Horizons, with its plethora of creation options, has always been a place for players to re-envision their favorite pop culture events, and this one arrives just in time for Halloween.

To get into the scary spirit, the fan shares an Animal Crossing: New Horizons replica of a well-known horror film every day leading up to Halloween. They started posting on September 24 with a clip from Shaun of the Dead and have since shared clips from films as diverse as The Exorcist, Jaws, and Carrie.

Day 10 of the countdown brings us to a clip from the 1995 psychological mystery thriller Se7en, posted by Reddit user TonyClifton323. This scene depicts the film’s antagonist, John Doe (Kevin Spacey), and the protagonist’s last showdown following a harrowing chase through a series of murders themed around the seven deadly sins.

Mills, played by Brad Pitt, demands of Doe, “what’s in the box?!” with the strong inference that the box contains his wife’s severed head.

If the actual movie scene took place outside, it was still recreated inside a house for the Halloween countdown. The designer was free to get creative with the wallpaper and flooring to increase sales.

The props’ clever arrangement makes many photos easily recognizable, even without reading the titles. For example, the movie Se7en is set in a desolate, dry terrain, yet the Animal Crossing: The New Horizons edition has wallpaper and flooring that resemble beach waves. The actor playing Brad Pitt’s character is frozen in the middle of a shout emote, with a box resting nearby.

Since the countdown is focused on horror films, it would be unfair to exclude Se7en simply because it is a renowned mystery thriller. There are some genuinely terrifying scenes in it. One of those horrifying times has been immortalized in one of the cutest video games ever. Fitting for the spooky season.
