Nintendo tweeted an affectionate little nostalgic tweet, asking fans, “Which form of Wario do you relate to the most?” Hence, every meme and call for more Wario content has given rise to several Wario Land-based Warios. Let’s continue with that honesty; WHEN has Wario not been a mood?

The tweet, with the simple caption “Wario time! Which one are you? 🤔 #NintendoSwitchOnline,” was a collage displaying the many transformations of Wario throughout the Wario Land series. From flat Wario to big Wario, the post just forced people to immediately immerse themselves in old times of GBA and GameCube gaming. As fans partly competed with each other in choosing their favorite Wario form, another group of fans used the moment to wish Nintendo would pay more attention to Wario Land.

@aleromeroo_grc perfectly captured the sentiment: “I’m totally feeling number 5, that classic Wario vibe with a big grin and some serious strength. I’m loving seeing Wario Land 4 on Switch Online, brings back so many memories.” @Dustrick differed, though: “I have always loved number 2, the flat Wario, it’s exciting when you manage to get him to float perfectly into the gaps.”

But there were also those that didn’t care about the nostalgic element too much. @drecksohn and @MFCHYLL, among others, flat-out demanded Nintendo to make a new Wario Land game or at least port Wario Land: Shake It to Switch. Well, honestly? Me too! Wario Land deserves more attention, and it’s clear that people want it.

So certainly, how can one expect a Nintendo tweet without some chaos? “@TheSeanInc: I ate too many beans, and now I can’t fit through the front door anymore.” At which point, @SkyloftSword responded with a GIF of a nuclear bomb…for no discernable reason. Classic Twitter.

The tweet also spawned further discussions on the lack of Wario Land titles on Nintendo Switch Online. @JeffMan1490 chimed in, “We only need Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 and Wario Land II and the Wario collection is complete.” And honestly, Nintendo, why haven’t you? The populace has spoken.

More creativity ensued with some of the responses. @PotOfGreedo responded, “I’m about to WarioWare Snap because I can’t WarioWare Get It Together,” proving that Wario puns never get old.

The actual question is-why keep teasing Wario content when the fans want a new Wario Land game? Or a full collection? Poor Wario has been in the cellar for way too long, and fans are ripe for a big comeback.

So, which Wario are you? The plushy classic one? The flat one? The suspended bean monster? Whatever; one thing stands clear-that chaotic energy of Wario is timeless, with a few still hoping to see him more-down-the-road.

For the time being, then, shall we return to playing Wario Land 4 on Switch Online, pretending it’s enough?
