The PvP mode for the upcoming Ghost Recon Breakpoint will have its own servers, which is good news for fans.
This was confirmed by Alexander Rice, the lead designer for the game. In the report, he shared that a dedicated server is one of the most popular demands of Ghost Recon fans.
A dedicated server promises a better overall gaming experience for the players. It’s significantly better compared to the peer-to-peer connection, which is known for providing inconsistent gameplay. The game will always try to find the best host, which doesn’t exactly perform as one would expect.
It also gives the host server the advantage, especially in PvP mode. Finally, a dedicated server results in low ping. More importantly, this is spread evenly among all the players, thereby nullifying anybody’s advantage.
In the same vein, Rice said a dedicated server will also allow them to crack down on cheaters and hackers. Those who try to game the system will be easily rooted out and banned.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint is still open for beta testers who will have the first chance at playing the game. The trial will start on Sept. 5.
Although Breakpoint is the successor to Ghost Recon Breakpoint Wildlands, it’s like night and day between the two DLC. For instance, you will explore new maps, which were built especially for Ghost War. Accordingly, fans of Metal Gear Solid 3 will find some elements on Breakpoint that are familiar.
The team, led by Nomad, will fly out of Bolivia and drop into Auroa. It’s a fictional place, but it draws inspiration from the many islands in the Pacific. That means more of the tropical setting, lush forests, and beautiful beaches. You have an open world environment to play with, which can both be an advantage or a disadvantage.
Breakpoint also introduces Cole D. Walker, voiced by The Punisher’s Jon Bernthal, who will play a villain this time. Walker leads a band of very capable specialists, being former Ghost agents. They also have a very cool name–The Wolves. And you will both be the prey and the hunter.
Rice also said that the PvP mode in Ghost Recon Breakpoint was modified to promote more aggressive gameplay. How does the Shrinking Circle of Death sound for a PvP?
The DLC is set to be released on Oct. 4, 2019, for Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.
