The release of Magic’s Warhammer 40,000 crossover is less than a month away. Games Workshop’s gothic sci-fi brand, Universes Beyond, will be available in four Commander decks for Magic: The Gathering starting on October 7 following a little hiatus.

Abadon the Despoiler, the captain of The Ruinous Powers deck, gave us our first glimpse of one of the commanders back in May. Last month, the artwork for the final three commanders was revealed, but Wizards of the Coast chose not to unveil the whole cards. That will happen shortly since, beginning on Monday, Wizards will start a full week of preview for the Warhammer 40K decks.

On September 12, Bridging Worlds: Magic: The Gathering x Warhammer 40,000, which will be broadcast on Magic’s official YouTube account, will be released.

On the Weekly MTG Aftershow and the Warhammer Community page, we’ll also receive some cards. The Tyranid Swarm will be the focus of Tuesday, The Ruinous Powers will be the focus of Wednesday, The Necron Dynasty will be the focus of Thursday, and the Forces of the Imperium will be the focus of Friday. The subsequent days of the week will be devoted to one of the four decks.

Throughout the week, a variety of venues will provide distinctive previews; a complete list can be found here on the official Wizards website. Expect the complete decklists to be uploaded to Magic’s picture gallery at the end of every day after 2 PM PT.

The grim setting of Warhammer 40K meant that the collection of four Commander decks certainly leaned black on Magic’s color pie, as we discovered in our review from back in May. Esper white/blue/black will represent the Forces of the Imperium, Grixis blue/black/red will represent the Ruinous Powers, and mono-black will, of course, represent the Necron Dynasties. The only race that avoided using the green, blue, and red of the Temur to decorate its deck was the Tyranids.
