Zen Studios has made two action-packed tables for Tomb Raider: big hoorah! These two action tables celebrate Lara Croft’s most ancient and cool adventures. But… the response from the Tomb Raider community is quite peculiar.
First off, let us keep the announcement simple. So basically players can roll through iconic digital pinball adventures of Lara’s quests with all the bells and whistles of a classical pinball experience. Zen Studios, historically, have offered very slick digital pinball adaptations. So quality should never a concern. The concern is that we apparently have few people clamoring for this. At least, not yet.
The reactions on the official Tumblr page were sarcastic, frustrated, and desperate. User @mysunelody said, “Girl no one wants this enough is enough please give us something about tr12 😭.” And honestly? That is the mood.
Others were diplomatic. For example, @ltzsa said, “This collab is super cute and Lara’s model looks amazing but can we please get an update on season 2 🙏🙏.” In the meantime, @xShiva5 was much more straightforward: “Just post something about a new game dawg 😭😭😭.” The vibes are… chaotic.
And the complaints about patches? @dreamdoll29 entered the conversation on the subject of Tomb Raider I-III Remastered and demanded for Patch 5: “As compared to tr4-5 remastered, tr i-iii remasters are in very bad state.. please, thank you.” Fair. Very fair.
Some tried to keep faith, even if just barely. @ritrixi pointed out, “That animation in the first second confirms a Legend, Anniversary, Underworld collection, no?” Maybe? Or maybe it is just… an animation. Who knows at this point.
@ViewtifulPes keeps sarcasm in top form: “Wow, thank you so much! This is everything the fans have long waited for and wanted.” Oof.
But not all were angry. An angel from @TrueRealSaint said: “I love Tomb Raider Pinball.” And @DudeKyleRaider outlined an interesting proposition: “Post the highest score from the studio and if the community beats it, we get a tease at TR12?” That is a statement indeed.
The real question is… why drop a pinball collab when the fanbase is literally starving for news on Tomb Raider 12? The radio has been silent for too long now, and the players are restless. Even the most patient are starting to crack.
So yeah, Tomb Raider Pinball is out. It’s probably fun. But if Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal were hoping that this would be enough to tide everyone over, well…the Twitter replies suggest otherwise. Here’s cracking for some real TR12 news soon—before the fanbase fully loses it.
Meanwhile, if you are into digital pinball, check it out. If not… keep refreshing Tomb Raider socials with the rest of us.
