It’s Halloween, so naturally, one Elden Ring supporter went all out by dressing as White Mask Varre. Because Elden Ring players have no idea what kind of horrors await them, the game is exceedingly difficult. The action RPG officially kicks off at the First Step site of grace, where a terrifying Tree Sentinel boss lurks in the distance. Almost without exception, fresh players rush the boss, only to be brutally dispatched and made to restart from the nearest reload spot.

There is a pleasant character at The First Step site of grace alongside this terrible Elden Ring monster known for bringing down the spirits of novice players. White Mask Varre is the first non-player character (NPC) a player will meet in The Lands Between. Varre welcomes the Tarnished, inquires about their goals, and, most importantly, provides sound guidance on how to thrive in this dangerous environment.

It’s worth noting that he isn’t as well-known as Ranni, Melina, or Milicent, three of the most prominent NPCs in the game. Even so, he has a small but dedicated fanbase in the real world, and one of those fans recently celebrated Halloween by dressing up as White Mask Varre.

The credit for creating a fantastic costume based on White Mask Varre’s appearance goes to Reddit member foxhunt-eg. The user posted a picture on Instagram with the caption, “Oh yes… Tarnished, are we?” This is the first line of the Elden Ring NPC’s opening dialogue. Varre then tells the player that the Tarnished is a virgin and advises them to follow grace’s direction to reach their goal.

With Halloween quickly approaching, we may expect to witness an increase in the prevalence of costumes based on Elden Ring characters. Since Melania, Radahn, Rennala, Godfrey, and Ranni are among the game’s most recognizable characters, their outfits are likely to be the most worn at the event.
