Developer JagoGames has launched the Kickstarter for its dating sim visual novel with horror anime and high school romance-inspired stories The Lost Delinquents of Rollings High. The developer is seeking around $24,000 to help with development.

A demo of the game has been in development for the past nine months, and so far, the game has come a long way. The developer is seeking additional funding so the game can launch next year.

In The Lost Delinquents of Rollings High, players take control of protagonist Marty Greenwood, a senior at Rollings High School. The game takes place in the mountain town of Frank’s Hollow during the late 1980s. Marty has a lot on his plate with his upcoming high school graduation, final exams, and Prom.

As Marty deals with his school life, he begins to get a sinking feeling that something else is going on. The town is becoming more dangerous every day with unusual new events.

In the visual novel, players will help Marty survive the last few months of high school, find romance, make new friends, learn a new hobby to take with him into the future, or investigate the unusual events occurring in Frank’s Hollow. All of Marty’s plans have to be completed by Prom Night.

The developer gave additional information and plans for the game on Kickstarter. The game is a story-driven visual novel with at least 13 romanceable characters. The developer plans to have voice acting in the game but will need to meet a stretch goal for full voice acting. Players can expect at least 12 hours of gameplay with a lot more content planned.

The Lost Delinquents of Rollings High combines the usual day-to-day activities of a teenager, similar to many visual novels. However, JagoGames adds a unique twist with multiple subplots, including Lovecraftian reals with horror, fantasy, adventure, and more.

The developer plans to launch the game with 21 main characters with voice work and animations if the Kickstarter reaches its goal. This is not the maximum number, as the amount will change depending on the crowdfunding’s success.

Those interested in the game can learn more about the large cast of characters and get a preview of their artwork within the Kickstarter’s description.

The game mechanics contain meaningful choices and branding paths. It’s up to the player to decide Marty’s fate with multiple dialogue options.

The Lost Delinquents of Rollings High Kickstarter is now live. The game is planned to launch in 2021 for PC.
