Consider this; take the option of Elena’s return in Street Fighter history. Long legs have been her trademark for a very long time, and today, that force returns with velocity, grooving smoothly along that rhythm. An official dev interview has just come out, stimulating the salivation of the FGC. Whether you have been gaming for years or just acquired the system, Elena’s return fairly sets up to be among the grandest ever made into Street Fighter 6.

The official Street Fighter Twitter posted a small clip of Elena showcasing her stealthy and flowing fighting styles from beat to beat. The caption reads: “She’s having the time of her life. πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈ” To tell you the truth, she really is chilling. That gameplay breakdown that is out in YouTube currently focuses on her mechanics, particularly her kick combos and the chaining of kicks into punishing combos. Some of the players have already started to call her a meta changer. Then again, most just go crazy seeing her return after her last play in Ultra Street Fighter IV.

Of course, there are naysayers, too. Oh, the replies to the tweet are a whole rollercoaster, typical of the FGC! One player, @Indurability, went straight to the point, asking Capcom to “do something about all the cheating” so the rest of the community can enjoy the game too. Meanwhile, @TheJackTrades dissed the “long-reaching kicks” describing as SF6 characters do not have long-range normals. And then, @Serhan_Black wants Sagat and Gouken back instead of “unnecessary characters.” Can’t please everyone, huh?

One thing is certain, though: Elena has bona fide love among fans. @HeavenlessStar was vociferating about the design and expressed affection toward the theme song. @alecandstuffff talked about the retro inspirations behind her animations, while @GK_MemKio simply said, “It’s Almost Time….” Get the hype!

Of course, when talking about Street Fighter, the conversation rarely goes untouched by wild theories. @Thiago_mcd predicates with high certainty Makoto will be next, while @KaraiSuzuki begins to count down the days leading to the release of Kage. Then, of course, @Strykerfm had to drop the real question: “How much of her is legs?” (Answer: A lot. The answer is a lot.)

With all that hype, Elena’s arrival says a lot. Whether she turns the meta or remains just the lately accepted fan favorite, one thing is for sure: Street Fighter 6 is one fiery mixtape. One would wish Capcom would finally bring up those patch notes (@progRevolution is not the only one waiting).
