Recently, Bethesda called out to players to join them in the arrival of Wastelanders, which would commence this week, January 17th, to be precise. The purpose of this invitation is for players to try out the new content, provide feedback and report issues they experience via their Private Test Server (PTS).
They also stated the number of players which a few hundred to join in playtesting. While this means not every opt-inn would be selected, they wanted to ensure that as many active and experienced community members would have the chance to opt-in for a higher chance of consideration.
Bethesda has confirmed that from Friday 17th January, the PTS will launch for Fallout 76’s Wastelanders update. This update is going to add human NPCs to the multiplayer title and also the Nuclear Winter battle royale mode.
Also, the PTS would only be running on a PC. The full details from Bethesda official website are listed below:
• The Wastelanders Private Test Server is meant for PC ONLY. As stated on Bethesda’s blog.
• Invited players will need to complete a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) in the launcher before PTS installation. Also, players will not be allowed to steam, share, record, or talk on any information from t.he playtesting
• PTS playtesting will take place on an in-house development Wastelanders build, and players should not be surprised if they encounter issues during gameplay. Also, players are expected to report any bugs they find to the team so that they can work on each of the bug reports.
• This Private Test Server is only meant for Wastelanders. It is not the same as their upcoming Public Test Server, which is still under development.
• The Player’s progress will be saved so that they can continue from where they left each time they access the Wastelanders PTS.
o Moreover, due to the nature of testing, it may become necessary for us to wipe all PTS progress, but players would be made aware ahead of time if they plan to do that.
o Additionally, the players’ progress on the PTS will not transfer to the live version of the game when Wastelanders is released.
• Finally, players should give Bethesda dev team their feedback! Players selected to participate would be asked to provide feedback on specific aspects of the game, answer and fill surveys, or participate in group discussions.
Note that the test server would be running full time from January 17th, as stated earlier this excluding the maintenance times, and there is an end date for the server as well.
So those who would like to opt-in for the Wastelanders private test server can sign up on Bethesda’s official page before tomorrow, January 14th, 6:00 pm. ET.
