Gnosia is a social survival RPG. The game takes place in a world where the ones known as the “Gnosia” are known liars who trick and deceive humans. They are slowly trying to eradicate each human until none are left. They are working to destroy one human at a time.

The game takes place on a spaceship drifting through space. The humans onboard are fighting against the Gnosia threat. However, the Gnosia look similar to those on board. It’s up to the player to decide who is the Gnosia, and who is a friend.

The most suspicious one will be put into a “cold sleep.” There may be more than one Gnosia on board, to the crewmates have to work together until they are all slowly put down.

It’s almost impossible to know if each person put into a cold sleep was a Gnosia or a real shipmate. It could have been a scapegoat put forth by a Gnosia to protect themselves against the others.

The Director and Producer of the game, Toru Kawakatsu, spoke about the game during the showcase. In his remarks, he stated that each playthrough is under 15 minutes long. This gives players an opportunity to try out the game in different ways and see who among them is a Gnosia before time runs out.

Players can also customize their game to add up to 14 additional characters to make the game more intense. The game contains 2D illustrations of various anime-style characters. All of them have different personalities that players will have to analyze to see if they’re a real crewmate or one of the Gnosia.

The gameplay consists of mostly visual novel-like commands. Players will speak to the residents on board and either help or cause doubt in one of them. At the end of the day, all of the players will vote on who should stay and who is the Gnosia and must be put into cold sleep.

The real Gnosia changes in every playthrough. It’s even possible for the player to be branded the Gnosia.

Gnosia will be available as a digital download from the Nintendo Switch eShop. The language selection includes English, Japanese, and CHinese.

Gnosia was initially released in June 2019 for the PS Vita, but only in Japan. The game is an adventure role play title. Though players may find the theme recognizable and compare it to Among Us, Gnosia is a single-player game with no multiplayer features.
