Headup Games has announced Tinkertown will enter Steam Early Access in early November. Tinkertown is the first in-house production from the publisher.

Tinkertown is a drop-in multiplayer game. Players join, or leave, a procedurally generated open world where they will build, craft, and explore. Within the world are dungeons filled with enemies and bosses to fight for rare loot.

The worlds contain various biomes. The regions include mystical forests, deserts, ice tundras, mountains with flowing lava, and more. The graphics are composed of handmade pixel artwork contributed by Misbug, who previously worked on Textorcist.

Players can choose from multiple characters, such as a rogue, warrior, mage, and more. Loot gained from dungeons can be used with other resources and blueprints to craft tools, armor, weapons, and furniture. If players take the time to create workshops and other machines, their settlement will quickly grow into a thriving city.

Players can choose to build their own habitat with small shacks or castles and townships. The game can be played with up to three friends online.

Headup Games decided to launch Tinkertown in Early Access first because they want to work with the community to develop the title. They decided to add in community feedback as early as possible, especially the multiplayer parts.

The game is expected to stay in Early Access for a few months. The developer is eager to launch the full version as soon as possible, but not without sacrificing quality. Players are encouraged to communicate with the developer about any issues or give feedback on what they’d like to see added in the future.

The soundtrack of the game was composed by Hiroki Kikuta, who worked on the music of Secret of Mana.

The Early Access version includes base gameplay and multiplayer plus enough content to keep players entertained until the game launches. Players can provide feedback through Steam or the publisher’s official Discord server.

The publisher also announced:

Tinkertown is funded by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure as part of the federal government’s computer games funding program with a total of €153,669.

Players can also try out the free demo of the game before trying out the Early Access version.

Tinkertown enters Steam Early Access on December 3.
