There is never a dull moment when Fortnite drops a new series of Jam tracks! The most recent series are a bunch of tracks comprising “Livin’ La Vida Loca” by Ricky Martin, “Bed Chem” by Sabrina Carpenter, and “Black Hole Sun” by Soundgarden. So, Festival mode of Fortnite is throwing Latin pop bangers on grunge anthems, with a mixed reaction from the community.
Let’s talk about the feeling of it all. Livin’ La Vida Loca is an instant classic and has been in demand by players for an emote. An anonymous player stated that a “realist emote” would be “cool af,” and honestly, that player has a point. Imagine the pure vibes of doing the griddy to Ricky Martin’s classic track. On the other hand, Carpenter’s “Bed Chem” stirred up excitement among her fans, who could not contain themselves and shouted in all caps, “BED CHEM FUCK YES.”
That is the real shocker, though. This grunge masterpiece is now on a Fortnite shelf, much to the joy of those who never made it big in the previous passes. One player celebrated in Spanish, saying, “BLACK hole sun bravo excellent finally I can buy it,” which meant that this soundtrack is a big deal. While some players said it was technically already in the game as part of Lady Gaga’s Festival Pass, other players maintained that this was the first time it had actually been brought into the shop intentionally.
Now, on the flip side, not everybody is pleased with the arrival of this one. A few noticed this with their glare begging, “Bro, we got enough Sabrina, how many are they gonna add. smh.” On the flipside, that is another rally for the older tracks as someone screamed, “Can we please get some MJ or anything else that’s old and better than today’s music?” Ouch.
Leakage of the launch dates of these tracks came from a most evil reply: Tonight would see the drop of Livin’ La Vida Loca, while Bed Chem would hit the stores on Thursday, with Black Hole Sun closing out the week on Friday. In short, if you have been craving a Soundgarden session while thrifting your fortress, your time is here.
And who can forget when Black Hole Sun had already been accidentally released early, not once but twice? The scene took the biggest opportunity to shame the mess; one said, “How do they accidentally release an item twice?” Epic Games, what’s going on over there?
So, the whole set-up is an insane mash of nostalgia and groovy newness, reaffirming that Fortnite’s Festival mode never plays it safe. Whoever wants to rock out to Ricky Martin-energy or Sabrina’s pop vibes to Soundgarden’s haunting soundtrack has got it all. Yeah, I gotta get to air guitar practice for Black Hole Sun!
