The item shop update that hit Fortnite today was, to put it mildly, peculiar. Strap yourselves in for some truly WILD reactions. With the new rotation, we have Spider-Woman (twice for some reason), Battle Ready (seven times for real), and even the infamous Tesla Cybertruck. And, truly, the community is NOT pleased.
Firstly, why the double entry for Spider-Woman? Could an Epic Games employee have accidentally Ctrl+V’d one too many times? Players are just scratching their heads at this, some joking that the shop must be AI-created by now. One player even went on to tweet: “This shop looking like a billionaire’s fever dream,” to which a very honest answer would be “Mood.”
But, of course, the real drama lies around the Cybertruck. Players are split in their opinions: some are excited that they will finally be able to own an electric car in-game without spending a cool 100K on the real deal, while others are just roasting the whole concept. “I didn’t get a Tesla Cybertruck for free, what makes Fortnite think I’ll get it for V-Bucks?” one player clapped back. Another just called everyone who buys it a “loser.” Ouch.
Meanwhile, Battle Ready skins hitting the item shop SEVEN times has got players feeling as though Epic is trolling them. Like, who asked for this? The replies are overstocked with complaints on how the shop is in its “death” and has “the worst rotation ever.” One player even suggested “fire the entire item shop team and replace them with my goldfish.” Harsh but kinda fair?
Here’s the real tea: Where the hell are the Street Fighter skins? Demand for Ryu, Chun-Li, and the gang is bursting through the roof, and the players are slowly running out of patience. Disgruntled gamer tweeted, “Bro who TF is running the item shop,” following with, “the Street Fighter skins better come tomorrow atp.” The desperation’s pointing here, folks.
Not forgetting, there’s random drama breaking out in the replies. Someone initiated a full-fledged exclusives debate, another just dropped a “cry about it liberal” out of nowhere, and then the instead-of-friendly banter started between MCU fans and TASM fans. Classic!
So what’s the verdict then? Well, a complete mess, but at least it’s giving players some entertainment. Are the Street Fighter skins finally dropping? Probably. Is the Cybertruck about to blow up as a class act of the game? Also probably. But one thing all these are calling for is a hard step-up from Fortnite’s item shop team, or hell shall break loose, or, you know, just…the goldfish.
