The infamous Janky skin has returned once more in the Fortnite Item Shop after a truly unnatural absence of 400-some days. A recent tweet by the famed Fortnite leaker and content creator, HYPEX, sparked an avalanche of responses, some excited and some, not so much.
The tweet carried a link to buy the skin and a plea to use “HYPEX” as a support code. The Fortnite community around the skin’s return was split: some were excited and some just roasted the skin’s return; one player (@AngryShitPosts), said outright, “Let his ass stay gone thank you.”
But hey, it wasn’t just hate out there. Some players such as @younggstoner instantly understood the situation and rejoiced at being able to finally complete their collections, while others like @DaanSamulski remarked that the skin really wasn’t gone for 400+ days, saying, “It was not last seen in the item shop over 400+ days☠️ btw i have the skin since chapter 2 since he came out.”
And so, the jokes came pouring in. @LuTheRealWizard claims Janky was the “favorite street fighter,” which was… okay, that was funny. Now for some constructive criticism from @DangitKevGG: “Looks cool up until the face. Does it come with a paper bag style?” And honestly, fair enough.
The real drama began with the confused: why bring back Janky and continue to withhold other very highly requested cosmetics (looking at you Arcane collab) from the store? @cryosphered_ was emotional about it: “They’ll rerun this trash ass skin but not rerun arcane and get free money.”
And then the conspiracy theorists came in: @iHeist007 said: “I remember they even tried to trick us about this skin being exclusive that it WILL NEVER COME BACK. Just so those desperate people would buy it.” Yikes. If that is true, it is next-level FOMO manipulation.
Whether you like it or hate it, Janky is back. And for those that have been waiting for it to return, now’s your chance to grab it before it disappears again—who knows how long for this time.
The rest of the Fortnite community will then be preoccupied arguing about this until the next controversial skin drops because, let’s be real—that is Fortnite. There’s always some drama.
