Fans of Fortnite, strap yourselves in; the Item Shop just experienced an intergalactic sale-from another planet-the last time it was a collab skin (and of course, all deserving the hype). This time, however, all sources are pointing toward the emotes as being the headline act. HYPEX, the famed Fortnite leaker, and insider, has just confirmed that the favorite of many, “It’s A Wash” emote, is making a comeback following a two-year-long hiatus. And, guess what? There’s also a second new emote landing in the shop!
The one that is back again, of course, is “It’s A Wash.” If you really managed to stay through Chapter 5 Season 3 all the way to this current one, you’d remember the emote: while the player character basically acts as if they were scrubbing themselves clean-for the game is essentially a metaphor for scrambling to survive a storm circle whilst dirty with mud. Try not to laugh aloud; the emote is about to come back to the shop, with players already buying it until it fades away once again.
But it’s not just that, another new emote is in the shop! Refusing to name it for us, HYPEX never misses a spot to tease. Yet, judging from the post’s replies, it was probably the “Sun Soakin'” emote, teasing from the game files for what seemed like forever. It has gathered numerous player requests, and definitely, if these leaks are truthful, it’s going to be with us soon. Now, imagine your character just chilling mid-game, lying down and sunbathing for some time.
And now, let’s wade through the chaos in the replies because the community had opinions. Some were genuinely hyped; all caps from @persephynite screaming, “ALL THESE SUMMER EMOTES HAVE BEEN A W,” while some others couldn’t give less about the hype, @CHEWIE_______ titillating, “If a 200 vbucks emote is a highlight.. WHY fking bother opening the shop tonight 🤦🤣.” (Ouch! But fair.)
This is probably one of the craziest confessions ever, too, says @swxzzys, “I haven’t showered since that emote last came out.” Bruh. Please tell me that’s sarcasm! Meanwhile, @Sinisterknows reveals that he or she “didn’t even know this emote was rare,” to which we say-same. Fortnite’s turnover in emotes is so erratic that even those considered veterans sometimes lose track.
And of course, every update would be incomplete without a bunch of totally unrelated comments! Shoutout to @aucunrapportmais for deciding to slavishly describe German scientists grafting pig hearts into baboons (???). Sir, this is a Wendy’s—or, uh, an Item Shop update.
