It has been a great evening for the gamers to get their wallets ready for some purchases for too many items on the store-to-be. Clean fresh leaks have also confirmed the upcoming store items. The latest datamine find quite a wash, going to the Batman DC tab to the further ICON emotes, a second summer-themed store, and onwards. Yes, Epic was surely ready to suck every V-Buck account dry.
Now, the Batman DC tab might end up getting refreshed thrice-a presumption of thrice. This could mean they would go for new skins, reprints of the old favorites, or even just some extra Bat-gliders that further added to the price. However, players are already groaning about how often Batman swings into the shop. Because one reply under the leak tweet just said it all: “How many times Batman have to return!” Meanwhile, others are begging for other DC characters like Black Adam, who has been MIA for way too long. Another player complained, “They need to add more item shop DC. The rotation of the same few is exhausting.”
Then we have new ICON emotes, which might mean new dances or meme-worthy moves. No low-down has been spilled yet, but players are already with their fingers crossed for old favorites. One reply even threw in a desperate “BRING BACK METALLICA,” in reference to the iconic “Master of Puppets” emote. And, of course, there is the Summer Shop tab full of beach skins or surfboards or maybe that elusive Stranger Things collaboration somebody asked for. (No, Demogorgon fans, still no Hawkins in sight.)
I’d imagine the Battle Ready tab to be filled with military/combat-themed cosmetics-five different kinds to be specific. Could the actual Terminator skin be returning? “No Terminator? 😭” from one hopeful. The “Get Your Kicks”-two items unknown-well, one bored soul joked it might be Lightning McQueen Crocs. Hey, nothing is off the table right now.
Some of them were unimpressed, though, as people berated the repetition of the shop, especially coming off of the Street Fighter skins drop. “They brought Street Fighter skins and continued bringing repetitive stuff,” one player sighed. Another just straight-up called it “ass,” though they admitted they already got what they wanted. Priorities, right?
Another sore subject: missed collaborations. Players are still waiting on Mortal Kombat skins, Resident Evil, One Piece, and even Ash from Evil Dead. “Still waiting for ash 😢,” one reply read. Another demanded, “When’s One Piece coming, man?” Epic’s keeping those hopes dangling, as usual.
So yeah, the shop tonight is a mixed bag. Some hype, some disappointment, and a whole lot of Batman. Will your wallet survive? Probably not. But hey, at least we got the leak early. Now excuse me while I go cry over my empty V-Bucks balance. Again.
