Finally, Fortnite decided to throw this cryptic tweet out there that read: “No no no no no no… family! Time for some fun, y’all!” The responses are exactly as one would imagine: mayhem. The comments are overflowing with demands, complaints, and frustrations about all aspects of the game, from “too powerful” abilities to skins that have been deleted. I mean, it’s literally a mess.

Talking about the tweet first: What does “family fun” mean? Is Epic teasing another crossover? Perhaps there is another set of Family Guy skins (because some players apparently still await the full set)? Or is this just some flung line thrown at them before something wholly unrelated is revealed? Knowing Fortnite, it can be anything: from that to a completely unwanted game mode.

But while Epic enjoys playing the mysterious card, players are not enjoying the bait. Comments float somewhere between rage, desperation, and complete bewilderment. @Modoruu0 said in the comments, “not fun getting beamed by +50% aim assist.” @StoffeMaestro expressed an opposite opinion maybe, demanding, “remove the stupid shit like beast and everything also, thanks.” If nothing else, that’s pretty much fair.

Which means of course, the onslaught for skins has begun. @NodleCup begged, “Pls add todoroki ill do anything gng 💔💔”; @Chels7054399378 is the voice asking to finally unlock the OG styles for the Street Fighter skins; and @LimeThe95155 just want Travis Scott and Kratos back in the shop (same here, actually).

Now, the juicy bit? The accusing of cheating. @CGarboid laid it all out there calling “the most blatant cheater” and telling Epic to “sort it out.” Meanwhile, @cdub325 came in with complaints about performance: “Why am I getting 75 fps when I run 120 and it works in every other game mode!! Fix your stupid game.”

The SBMM rant was next. @VersaFN8 joked that Epic’s response to all the complaining about aggressive matchmaking was to “turn it up more!” while another pointed out that unranked modes now feel ranked. So much for a somewhat casual time, huh?

And we’re not going to have a summer without the Spanish interjection from @glaimore1029, who angrily demanded to Epic, “Quiten los malditos súperpodere de la puta bestia de mierda.” Yup, someone isn’t pleased with the present-day meta.

Of course, enormous opinions are almost guaranteed to be held by Fortnite players. Some want things fixed, some want skins, some want “stupid” things to stop getting put into the game (looking at you, Beast Mode). But considering the history of its developers, who can really advise as to what it’s going to be? Maybe “family fun” means another co-op mode. Maybe it’s another odd crossover. Or maybe something completely different again.

One thing, for sure, is that the Fortnite community stands loud and proud. Will Epic be listening to them? That’s another story.

So what next? Teasing? Complaint posts? Another random collab? Time will tell. Until then, stranded in limbo, with demands and plenty of rage Tweets. Classic Fortnite.

At least the replies are very entertaining! Epic Games is preparing to implement changes amid all this feedback.
