Fortnite players, take heed: the most-watched Twitch Drop emote so many were grinding for is finally in the Item Shop. And, obviously, with it comes the brand-new skin. HYPEX, the much-reliable Fortnite insider and leaker, put out the news on Twitter, along with the link for snagging the goods. Oh, and there’s the famous operator code, “HYPEX,” to give back to him on checkout.
What really is this emote, anyway? Well, it was the early day Twitch Drops reward. Strange thing, the players just had to sit there and watch Fortnite streams escape for hours to unlock it. Now? 400 V-Bucks! Imagine that: all those long streaming hours, and then you can just outright pay for it.
But many are outraged. Players who got theirs the legit Twitch Drop way feel rather cheated. MrWereWolph asks it bluntly: “What’s the point of getting a Twitch Drop if they just turn around and sell it? 4 hours or 400 V-Bucks?” And honestly? Good question.
Then there are the OGs who think that exclusivity is some sort of honor to bear upon their sleeve. Nar_Wale expressed the sentiment of the hardcore a little too dramatically: “MY OG EXCLUSIVE EMOTE FORTNITE STOP DOING THIS😭🙏.” Whereas pwnwth and K_The_0ne carried on a bit of a serious debate on Twitter about whether fretting over digital exclusivity was actually worth one’s time. Spoiler: It didn’t go well.
As for Ascher, he was not annoyed at all and actually wanted more people to enjoy the emote already. They tweeted: “I have it but would love for others to enjoy it.” An extrapolated point for the Fortnite community.
On the other hand, the uproar exploded again: Linux_Martin_1 ordered Fortnite support for Linux (good luck with that); meanwhile, ChrysalisticX unleashed a meme in reply, “Not this thing again.” Classic.
That’s the presentation of the new skin: Nothing terribly in place yet, but if it’s anything from Epic, prepare your best wishes, glitz and glam, and an irreparable hit on your V-Bank.
So, what is the say? If you didn’t catch the Twitch drop, don’t let this option sit around anymore. Just go snag the emote. OGs feeling salty about it?
