Today, the Fortnite players all over the world seem to be losing their minds. Why? The OG bunker-y’know, that beautiful underground thing that had been sitting there in stasis for ages-now has NEW GLOWING LIGHTS! Theories regarding these new lights are flying around already. When is it that Fortnite doesn’t have cryptic nonsense then, right?
The whole whirlwind was kicked off by a tweet from ShiinaBR (who, by the way, must have caps lock stuck on forever, judging from one reply). Lights can be seen flickering inside the bunker in the video, and all of a sudden, the players began dissecting it as if deciphering was of grave importance, with some believing this to be Morse code, others thinking it’s the IO coming back to reclaim their turf, and then some just said “Meow meow meow,” because why not?
One player, @DraytoesGames, flatly said he didn’t know how to decode Morse but insisted somebody else should. And meanwhile, @07xDC swore that Grok translated it to “something is wrong.” Very helpful indeed. Then @HeroicBlaze_ was furious at the glowing lights not being there in the OG season of Fortnite, so he called it “false advertising.” Yeah, sure, buddy.
Now, this is not the first odd teaser lately. Another reply from @FN_Assist pointed out that there has also been an emergency broadcast on TV in Morse code that translates to “IT IS HAPPENING AG…” (probably “again”). And then, aiming at the meteor now rolls “Savor the W” instead of “Take the L” as back in 2018. So, yeah, Epic is definitely cooking something.
These theories are flying faster than a default skin trying to outbuild a pro. Some think it’s a hint towards Geno making a comeback (shoutout to @YTConn0r for this). Others think that IO will pop out like competing stabbing clubs, “Surprise, losers, we never left!” Also,@dawsongmusic points out humorously that the Fortnite bunker is doing things before GTA 6. Ouch.
Then there are some bored voices to chime in. @EclypSir joked that somebody would say, “It’s not OG,” and sure enough, @Foundation__6 responded with just that. Classic. Meanwhile, @GamerPlays1998 is side-eyeing the whole thing with “Don’t tell me IO is back, and they’re repairing their base 😳🤔.”
So what’s really going on? Who knows. But history has shown that Fortnite loves dragging players off into some convoluted storyline before an important update drops. Maybe it’s a new event. Maybe a secret skin. Maybe they’re just messing with us (again). Either way, these players will be attached to that bunker like it’s the last chest on the map.
That really is what makes Fortnite special at this point: Detailed, flickering lights give way to a community detective session. Whether that winds up in some giant reveal or a dead end, the chaos is half the fun. So keep watching, because you know something is going down. You’d better be there with a decoder ring.
