Fortnite has just dropped some priceless goodies for Crew members, celebrating General Grievous, Palpatine, Sabrina Carpenter, and so many other personalities in the latest update. This tweet set the reply box ablaze with excitement, rage, and pure chaos as it paired a cheeky Star Wars reference.
Some are genuinely hyped. The one called @EmorMetaX even celebrated, saying: “Nice!!! Glad I got the subscription!!” And @just2red seconded that the Crew was “really good.” Then came the perfect punchline summing up Fortnite’s gloriously extra crossover appeal by @07xDC: “Fortnite is the only game where you can have Sabrina Carpenter, LORD JAR JAR, Thanos, and LeBron in the same squad. THIS is peak gaming.”
However, to some, the update is a disappointment. Thousands of those players are tired of the Star Wars theme. The one called @wetsportsfan could not be less diplomatic: “I cannot wait for this season to end. It is such trash.” Then there was @RandyToye1 on full scorched earth mode: “Get rid of the Star Wars season and never bring it back! Worst season ever, stopped playing. Use real guns and ammo.”
Plus, a little bit of drama cheese goes on top of the subscription for the Crew. The one called @boxedbyymarkus side-eyed: “12,99$š³ every month nah š„µ” while @HanaSakuraSama had chosen to lay into Epic’s battle pass changes: “Removing the battle pass after crew expires was the greediest move your company could have done lmao.” Other folks, however, such as @EvelynLeCreator, are just begging for past Crew skins to be brought back over the continue onslaught of bland ones every month: “bring back past crew skins instead of releasing the most basic looking item shop skins every month.”
Now for the lightsaber requests. Daddy, those lightsaber requests. One fanatic called @jong0fett_87 demanded: “WE WANT THOSE LIGHTSABER PICKAXES BRU,” and @rubydubydude just wanted, “just gimme a lightsaber pickaxe.” Epic, are you listening or not?
The chaos will only continue. Some of the on-camera folks have already begun looking forward: @Hyatt4MVP yelled, “BRING BACK EZIO,” and @The_Rubyhero took that conversation in a much different direction: “We want Battlefront 3! Spread the word.” Meanwhile, @Susanonga made a very specific request: “Ok but what about the B1 battle droids” accompanied by a meme.
In any case, the Fortnite Crew drop goes on crushing the divided fanbase, as usual. Some can’t wait for these skins, others are sick of the Star Wars theme, and thousands want their favorite cosmetics to be brought back. Will Epic ever give in to any of these demands? No clue. Yet one thing is for sure: the Fortnite community shall keep on bickering.
So, all Crew subscribers, enjoy your unlocks. The non-subscribers? Well, please don’t forget to scream for these lightsabers. That drama is half the joy anyway.
