The roadmap for Year 10 of Rainbow Six Siege has just been revealed by Ubisoft, and features galore are coming in a riot of splash. The official @RainbowSixGame tweet prefigured what accounts for new and returning players in the upcoming seasons and cast fire upon the community (i.e., much bickering because it’s Siege).

Primarily-firstly, the whole beauty of the roadmap. Ubisoft did not put up a “we are working on stuff” message in a vague manner. Nah, they went all out with a full-on breakdown (see it for yourself). So, what is the roadmap about? In simpler terms: new modes, reworked maps, operator changes, and some surprises that’ll either make you jump with joy or crash down into an ocean of despair. Depends on whom you ask really.

Now, on the topic of reactions-world, the replies are such a MESS (in the best way). Some players are very much thrilled. @FluXHoundFB for instance has gone on record saying, “Proud of you and your team. Super excited for Siege X.” Then, from somewhere in the other direction, “@yano69k” strayed: “Really disappointed there’s no ranked rework with Siege X. I speak for everyone when I say we don’t like Ranked 2.0 and we want it gone!” Oof. That’s some strong stuff.

Also, there’s the whole console versus PC thing going on because, of course, there just has to be one. @AlexWhitehead90 wanted to know if the test server is coming to consoles. @jmich23_ fired back, “They don’t care about us… I’ve been saying this since the early days.” Maybe a bit harsh, but console players have been waiting for test server access for years with no end in sight, so the fury is justified.

Let’s not have that be the magnum opus for things scandalous; there’s also the whole shield-op-grumble. @coke123131-went-off (translated): “Still nerfing shield ops? Flash Shield is already useless. The balance team should just get fired.” Ouch. Someone’s not amused about those meta shifts.

Utterly gloomy? Not quite. There are already players intrigued by the new stuff, with @YumaMica asking if Dualfront (rumored for real) will have its ranked system. @firstnameMark is also wondering about R6 Extraction content being teased for a cross over into Siege because, as they say, “most wouldn’t buy Extraction in 2025.” Fair enough.

And then we have classic Siege experiences dirty-tripping: “crashes, cheaters, server issues,” just the way @tripx08 was complaining. “I would love that maybe for being on Year 10 this atrocious game would have decent servers.” Four rounds in a row, crashed, and had nothing but cheaters tonight. Apparently, it was a very bad night for @tripx08.

So, what is the verdict? Siege Year 10 is turning into… well, more Siege. Some are loving it, some are hating it, and some want their servers to work. Whether you’re excited for anything else or still mad about Ranked 2.0, there is one truth-that-this thing-aesthetic, or however you want-to-endeavor-speaking-is-not-going-to-slow-anytime-soon.

If nothing else, we’ve got more stuff to argue about in the replies. Classic Siege community.
