In Chapter 6 Season 3 of Fortnite, some new loot dropped, and the playerbase has… shall I say, a strange thing going for itself. This batch brings Superpowered Hero Items, the Spire Rifle LMG, new Boons and Medallions, and Krypto Treats and Sprites. Some players are excited about it; others are roasting the update on a spit.

What the hell is happening? The official Fortnite Twitter account asked players to choose their favorite item from the C6S3 loot pool, and it was like a brawl, with praises, rants, and desperate calls for changes. One side is defending Killswitch revolvers to its death, calling it the “GOAT” of the season, while the other side calls upon Epic Games to nerf the gloves and take out the scanning coin in ranked.

And then another quite vocal group wants Street Fighter skins… like, yesterday. Some gamer called the shop rotation “trash that nobody wants,” while another just labeled the entire season a hell of a “horrible” and “too much” for casual gamers. Ouch.

The good vibes, however, continue. That new mechanic is honestly fun: one user even called mid-air accuracy with the dual pistols “genius” for someone playing with a controller. Another group is obsessed with Krypto Treats and Sprites; some are happy to just Max Payne their way through matches up to the revolvers.

Of course, no Fortnite season would ever go without the usual shoutouts of “Bring back the old skins!”. Meanwhile, the playerbase has seen waxing for Wax Unchained, Wrath, and a black variation of the new Omega skin. Not to forget the Save the World fans still waiting for the biggest update like the year was 2017.

Here’s the gist of it: The community has forever been divided. Some are all about the new loot, while others are ready to chuck any controller that crosses their way through the ranked match experience. The one thing that remains is: love or hate it, it’s something that Epic has kept alive in conversations.

What now, then? So with déjà vu sightings of future updates already being leaked (and perhaps the much-desired one to the Battle Royale mode), the players may not be waiting for long for the next laugh at their expense. Till then, equip either your Spire Rifle or those dastardly revolvers and attempt not to tilt. Or do it. It’s Fortnite, after all.

For those who are lucky enough to be enjoying the season, carry on! For those who aren’t? Hopefully, next season. I said hopefully.
