Alright family, strap on your SoFurry corsets because Fortnite has just set off a nostalgia bomb: Adventure Time-desu! Woot! With Finn, Jake, and their party all invading the Item Shop, it was all-front-party chaos and mayhem in Battle Royale. The hype is still echoing in the ears of some, yet the reactions among others…were spicy.
The tweet from the Fortnite account, in the simplest way possible, went, “c’mon grab your friends, Adventure Time is back in the Shop!” From there erupted the reply storm. Some cried metallic tears, such as BlueJustice97, who was wishing for the day when an unimaginable Lemongrab skin would appear: “Some day we’ll get Lemongrab and that’ll be horrifically beautiful 🤣.” Meanwhile, others were clamoring for very different collabs. Street Fighter fans, I’m looking at you.
Speaking of Street Fighter, though, the side of Ryu, Chun-Li, and company is a very real demand. One player bared their soul, outright: “Street Fighter tomorrow please 🥺.” Another one, DethyXeno, in a full caps-lock rage, screamed: “No one cares!!!!!! Give us Street Fighter.” Oof. The thirst for Capcom fighters is so real that some players say Epic is trolling them. User rdrizaldizz mocked the scenario: “Fortnite to people who want Street Fighter collab: yeah, keep begging to us, and I enjoy your engagement :D.” Savage indeed.
But Street Fighter isn’t the only one. The replies turned into this chaotic endless wishlist. Some of the players are patiently waiting for The Last of Us skins (salutations to TLOUINFORTNITE, who dates back to Day 61 of asking). Others, like KaranSam1016_38, ask desperately for an Attack on Titan comeback: “Please re-sell the Attack on Titan Mikasa and Levi bundle!!” And then there’s Kane of V-Bucks limbo: “How about giving me the 3800 vbucks I paid for. 18 emails later and still giving me the run around.” Yikes.
Oh, and not everyone has been happy about Adventure Time. Sydney (@Sydonthesenuts) stated, “Haven’t bought and won’t until Arcane is back.” Christiano990, meanwhile, was left utterly confused: “Bro are we deadass right now bruh they are trolling us dude what is that Shawn the sheep ??” (A side: Shawn The Sheep collab when, Epic?)
Now Ralf’s up… Oh, this one! The dude went way too far, went conspiracy: Fortnite was “manipulating games of 11 year old girls and honest families,” demanding that the FBI be called. Sir, this is Wendy’s.
What really can be taken from this? The Adventure Time comeback is totally coded-up with good vibes, but the Fortnite player base is voracious for more: street fighter, The Last of Us, and their missing v-bucks, and they’re not gonna stop ’til Epic caves. Will it? Hell, only the gods know. Whatever, Item Shop drama never has an end.
