The “Super” title of Fortnite’s new season just about sums it up, past which opinions run the gamut. Some players are filled with excitement, claiming it to be the best season of the chapter, whereas the side-eye is reserved for gameplay balance and weapon choices.
The newest season brings alongside a dash of flight and super strength superhero mechanic chaos. Players in love with this creative mess are getting inspired to go crazy. Some players just aren’t digging this one. Robby Rogers (@Robitallout) said, “I’m not a fan of how easy it is to get killed—it’s kinda overpowered IMO (even tho I suck fr lol).”
The clamoring continues for weapons. The new armory has some players downright disappointed. @mynameisMarc (aka Cpt.StiffSocks) exclaimed: “I never understand why Epic puts the same old tired ass guns in the game after making such good content. You have a vault full of weapons, and we get these shit ass guns?” Oof.
Then comes the salty criticism from certain players that can’t get enough of Spire fights and the energy of the season. @FortN8News tweeted, “Very fun. I haven’t felt this excited or fun since chapter 2 or 3.” And @FarizYaari39750 said “MASSIVE UNDERRATED” with the hope of making it the best season ever.
Of course, there is always the Star Wars comparison. Some players like @DarthMalgusSW just bluntly state, “Star Wars was much better,” clinging to the feeling of the previous season. @ToxicCupcake947, however, replied, “Well it’s better than Star Wars also the cute little Superman sprites are fun to use 🥹.”
And then there is the classic XP Grind conversation. @bearstylish59 mentioned, “It’s fun, XP is a tiny bit slow,” which is honestly the case with every Fortnite season ever.
And bugs. Another classic. @SmartKitty_ complained: “Season launched really buggy, between NPCs not spawning at all and levels not counting (I know it’s fixed) just making it kind of annoying.”
But with an array of opinions, one thing is for sure: Fortnite is staying in the news. Be it disliking or loving the game, everyone will still willingly jump in for at least one or probably ten matches.
Is the “Super” season actually super? Well, that depends on who you ask. But hey, it sure isn’t boring.
