Alright, gearheads, and chainsaw lovers, fasten your seatbelts: Gears of War: Reloaded is a HOT commodity, and the beta begins THIS FRIDAY. This was a bombshell announcement by the official account on Twitter, which revealed an extraordinary opportunity for pre-orders: grantees will access two weekend-betas back to back in multiplayer. You do realize that means two single weekends of pure unadulterated Gears mayhem, right?
Now, as players would ask anytime over the internet, some questions came up. And not just any questions-some questions have a point to them. Like why isn’t there an actual physical release? (Shoutout to @GeekOfFighter93.) Or, “Why isn’t this the Fenix Collection, with Gears 2 and 3 included?” (@JakeDenny13, we feel your pain.) Classic spiels came in next: “Where’s the gameplay? Show us!” from @Dionysos19852. Like Coalition, give us something; really:
The crossplay master key was being hounded by @theoverviewguy-eagerly awaiting that moment is a very big deal for Gears arriving to PS. Just picture that: First time actually using that DualShock instead of a Lancer. Mad. But not everyone seems enthusiastic about it, while @TabbulaTitan said that Microsoft “can’t make shit these days.” Now, ow, harsh words, but hey, opinions are like the Torque Bow; everyone got one.
I gotta say that if you had the digital Ultimate Edition pre-May 5, you’re good to go. No code required-everything will just be updated. (@Hygenikz, we’ve got ya.) Physical copy holders, well, unless you’re pre-ordering full steam ahead, you’re out of luck. @TR_Delight93 said it’s “bs,” and darn right, you can’t disagree with that logic.
Really, the elephant in the room is wall bouncing. @NeoNeco42 is already hyped about the return, and honestly, same. You know. But for the Horde fans (@IrishBlackOps19), so far, no word. Fingers crossed though.
So what’ll it be? Nostalgia, frustration, and hyped energy seem to be stirred about in equal amounts by Gears of War: Reloaded. In fact, whether the thrust provided in multiplayer chaos would generate curiosity to jump in, or full Fenix Collection, is a topic down for debate. The one thing for certain is that the beta will be a messy barn; and we’ve got our boots on for that.
Pre-order now or forever hold your peace-unless you’re for that physical copy. In which case, good luck, soldier. And for those looking for more details, check out Epic Games.
