A freshly leaked POI has split player opinion, some thinking it good and others ugly. The picture, leaked by @Loolo_WRLD and selected by @ShiinaBR, showcases what seems to be an Academy-themed spot—generally mixed reactions there. Some have stated it reminds them of Sky High, some think it is boring, and others have no clue why anyone would even want a school in a shooter. Classic Fortnite craziness.
While the leaked image does not say much, the rather neat structure could be considered a recreation center or something along those lines in the Overwatch universe. One player jokingly called it “Agency-looking,” which, if one could remember that POI, might imply it is either very very good or a sure way to die instantly. No in-between.
Then there comes the real question—will there be loot? Because if there is one thing Fortnite players hate, it will be a beautiful location with nothing to loot. Another comment said, “looks good, but will have no loot,” and honestly? That might just be true. Remember those new schmancy mansions that were just for show? Yeah.
While players are already debuting comparisons with old POIs, @OOGraham2 says, “Reminds me of Sky High,” which was a favorite in the old days. Some, like @KiriBuilds, aren’t having it and describe it as “so bland 🥀💔.” Meanwhile, @K_The_0ne calls attention to the irony of “Having a school in a shooter,” which, eh, Fortnite lore has never been quite sober, but this might be the last drop.
And then there lies the real mystery: Where is the other girl? @kornfetti asked, “Where’s the other girl?? 😭😭,” and honestly, the same. If this is going to be a POI for two, we’ll definitely need answers.
Naturally, no leak sort of discussion could ever be complete without the server complaint. @TheDemon_Power chimes in with: “22 minutes and can’t find server,” or the perfect summary of Fortnite matchmaking, sometimes.
About how the leaks keep happening, @SH4D3D123 asked the real question, “how are you guys getting the images?” And genuinely, we would like to know. Data miners just seem to keep winning.
With the Star Wars season currently active (shoutout to @TamusangeEvans for asking when it ends, because, same), it remains to be seen if the Academy POI is for the next update or just something in the works. But history has shown that Fortnite loves its surprises, the kind in-between-a-sneeze-and-a-hiccup wonder.
Is it going to be the next Tilted, or another one of those pretty backgrounds? Time will tell. That said, the fact that the player union is debating already means one thing—Epic is doing something either right or wrong. Depending on whose side you’re on.
