Self-described and self-promoted two-time back-to-back Blockbuster Video Game Champions, Dr Disrespect has decided to dish out an extra controversial clip, splitting the entire gaming community. In a recent tweet, Doc posted a gameplay clip with the caption: “It’s not a bot lobby… I’m just playing that good.” Well, the responses were awesome, to say the least.
The clip shows Doc destroying the opposition while car crashes and bombs explode in apparent Warzone gameplay. Classic Doc, really. Here’s the catch: quite a number of players in the replies felt otherwise. Some went on to outright call for bot lobbies, while others were just there for the memes.
RaphaelSeGra did not take his time to comment, “This bots he ran over we’re bots for sure.” Ouch. Then, Juan de saying jokingly: “So, it’s a Doc lobby?” while TSavvyy jumped in with appreciation: “Hilarious clip 😂.”
Then… it started getting a little “dark.”
Because the Twitch ban of 2020 for alleged inappropriate messages with a minor—an occurrence still cast its shadow upon the clip. Anthony Chapa wrote, “Dude was trying to fuck kids and all you clowns watching his stream. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡” Guy came in piling, “You’re also that good at messing with minors.”
Oof.
For the uninitiated, a quick rundown: Twitch banned Doc after an internal investigation following incidents raised in 2017. He denied any unlawful or explicit behavior and asserted the matter was settled on. No legal charges were ever filed, but the internet, it seems, never forgets.
Anyway, back to gameplay… Duarte Mendes was defending Doc’s skills: “There’s no one who can create content so easily, it’s a privilege but it’s also a lot of work and intelligence.” Maverick then complimented the timing: “Timing is incredible.”
Then, you have your wild cards. Frezblood wrote: “Hay there champ was wondering if you could send me some stuff signed so I could sell them for thousands of dollars and fix my car need a new transmission sadly.” Uh… sure, buddy.
Bot or no-bot, the dude still manages to stir things up. Way too few artists he inspires—which might have been the very plan.
So? Was it actually a bot lobby? Or was Doc just insane at this game? Well, maybe none of that really matters anymore because the show is on. Either way, the clip has been the talk of the town, and half the battle on streaming is talking.
Now that you have excused us from the room, it’s going to be a few viewings of the clip for us. For research.
