Bungie issued another cryptic clue for Destiny 2 players to solve. The Nine are watching; The Emissary is granting Exotic rewards. That cryptic tweet reading only “The Nine are watching. The Emissary offers an Exotic reward. Visit her in Eternity to begin” sent the Horde into a frenzy, and some were not pleased.

So what is really going on here? Players hang out in Eternity (a weird space hub that’s all about The Nine) to get loot. How do people feel about this? A mixed bag of emotions: A few Guardians are buzzing while the rest of them… well, would not be an image of people throwing confetti.

One player by the name of “nusho” went full-on and said he had “jumped off the Destiny 2 train,” claiming that grinding was barely worth doing now. They went on to say that Edge of Fate (the latest weapon system implementation by Bungie) was essentially on life support… the same system that had previously rendered a lot of gear useless with every major update. Ouch. Then some others went on about how the game is dying and pointed the fingers at Bungie ‘greed’ for the plunging numbers.”

That’s just some of it, really. Then there is rolf_toad that, at least, appreciated the event as it guaranteed Exotics; however, they also called out Bungie for not explaining the new “nonary engrams” a bit sooner, which… fair. Meanwhile, Supernova 0 keeps begging for a Vex Mythoclast drop after all those weeks of grinding via Vault of Glass. Mood.

Now for the Trials of Osiris spam: Albin0 basically asked after Vostok was chosen as a Trials map, why also does Bungie keep “trying to ruin their own game.” And let’s not forget the Gambit crowd, because Augur just said, “How bout some Gambit?” given the mode has been begging for some attention for a while now.

The bigger takeaway is: The Destiny 2 community remains fractured. Some players are all in, grinding for Exotics and triumphs, while others feel the burn from systems they regard as repetitive or unfair. With Bungie’s big streaming event on the horizon, players like Dredgen_Kaiser are hoping for an earthshattering announcement of a new subclass or a fix for the weapon tier system they’re all up in arms about.

So, can this Exotic reward lure players back, or is it a mosquito bite when much more is needed? That’s something only The Nine know. However, one thing’s for sure: The Destiny 2 communities can’t seem to keep quiet with their opinions. Whether Bungie listens is the real end game here.
