The Rite of the Nine event has dropped in Destiny 2 by Bungie, and… goosebumps said not all the reviews were cupped. Now, live for all to embrace, the event invites Guardians to “step forth and demonstrate your power to the Nine,” while the online community has had a rollercoaster of hype, frustration, and downright confusion as a response.

Some heartbreaking news, though: players are jumping right in. A Guardian @DisAstrid_Web3 exclaimed, “Let’s get this 🔥!” with @GG3_xyz teasing: “Nine, I hope you’re watching!” And another one that’s proud, @RonMcDon95: “It’s amazing how easy eternity and ultimatum prophecy are if you have a titan run stronghold with a decent flash counter sword.” So yeah, it was fun for some.

The flip side. @CompetitivDrama poured cold water on the events, dubbing it “worst Destiny event ever.” That hurt. Now @jeanvalchibre got loud and said: “Weapons are trash. Event is bad. And new expansion look boring as F.” That hurt doubly. And there is another one, @Randylee25Ace who uninstalled it saying, “I’m probably finished for good since the light and dark saga got concluded.” Yikes.

The other side to it- loot drama! @Joseph76000 ranted about grinding for a weapons roll: “Been farming for a Headstone/Timed Payload Judge for over a week. Gotten over 100 to drop with double perks and I’ve seen Headstone once.” @theJthatmatters wasted no time to judge: “The loot RNG is shitty perk-wise. I keep getting trash, so nah.”

And then, there were bugs. @phrog_lmao implored Bungie: “Fix Divinity so it doesn’t have that bad reaction with Particle Reconstruction,” while @Soonergolfer08 kept it simple: “Fix the damage numbers.” Classic Destiny-continuously keeping players on their toes in awe and agony.

And some people swam a bit away from the subject. @nextgentime pleaded, “Please make it so we change body types in modify screen,” while @KaiHarizor jumped in on the conversation, “If y’all could bring Destiny 2 to the Switch 2 that would be great.” Bold ask, but hey, shoot your shot.

Traversing into the comments section faster than the speed of light, @JohnVine354681 appeared with this wildest opinion yet: “EoF can’t save Destiny unless you bring back fishing.” Wait, fishing? Was that even a thing? Did we miss a memo?

But, at the end of the day, Rite of the Nine has arrived, and Destiny players may or may not be considered among the most passionate in the Earth. Some grind, some quit, and some are just here for the chaos. As @TheAlbertanVoic said, “Destiny has cooked itself.”

What is your position? Guardians, are you stepping forth for the Nine or a hard pass for the event? The drama comes free anyway, and, well, the loot is… questionably so.
