Bend has been going crazy for the PC community. Maybe a discount of 50% in the Steam Summer Sale for Days Gone DLC Ride the Broken Road was very enticing. However, the speculation had been that buyers were shouting for a sequel.
The DLC, providing new challenges and content for the post-apocalyptic biker adventure, will be available for another two weeks until July 10. What an opportunity to snap!!! Believe me, once Bend Studio tweeted that out, a flood of chatter containing many PlayStation purists, frustrated PC types with DualSense problems, through to hardcore Days Gone stans, all ensued.
First, some statements from the PlayStation loyalists. Kal Mc confronted them with what really does everybody want to know: “What’s happening with us loyal PS5 players?” And honestly? Fair. So, for some periodary time, the DLC has been on console-o-lution. But just now, to see PCs get love (and a discount!) while the PlayStation was sitting with no new update? Ouch!
Now, ConditionalSense was a drama. Then, a bunch of comments bigging Bend up and asking them to fix the wonky Steam support for the controller, “Fix the Dualsense on PC!!!” and “The dualsense still don’t work on steam!!” for example. Bend Studio has yet to respond. After so many people bring it up, you’d think they’d at least acknowledge it.
A bigger one, “Where is Days Gone 2?” is basically everywhere, from Khaldwaleed1990’s barebones demand to akira’s desperate desperate, “pls pls plssssss release days gone 2 pleaseeeee.” Thirst for the sequel is real. Even Michael Newman came in for some “new game from your amazing studio.”
Then, a few had specific requests or demands, like David Jones demanding fixes to weapon storage in the remaster along with DLC weapon packs, and others like ✕☐◯△ vowing absolute refusal to buy anything lacking physical release: “No physical, no buy.” Harsh but respect the dedication.
And then, economic intervention: the teaming GOG bunch. Denis and Eduard Drăghici were somewhat interested in knowing whether the DLC was ever going to roll via a DRM-Free platform. No word yet from Bend, so, given how long it even took Days Gone to land on PC, the GOG crowd should really buckle up for quite a wait.
So we have this DLC up for sale. Nice, yet what’s crazy is the sheer amount of hype this tweet generated for Days Gone 2. Players clearly dearly love this game, flaws and all, and aren’t shy to demand more of it. Whether Bend is listening remains a mystery. Judging by the responses, the demand is screaming loud.
Until then, the PC community can grab the DLC discounts-on-sale-just-check-if-your-DualSense-works-first. And if you dare, throw in a little “Days Gone 2 when?” tweet while at it. It should do some good.
