At the end of the first trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, a full multiplayer reveal was promised for September 9. But, it looks like some of its details might’ve just leaked online in advance of next week’s big reveal.

The aforementioned leak comes courtesy of YouTuber The Gaming Revolution, who recently shared the multiplayer gameplay details on his channel, as he and other pros/streamers got a chance to play the game, presumably an alpha version.

You can take a look at The Gaming Revolution’s upload in the video below.

Per usual in Call of Duty games, there will be two factions in Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer mode: CIA and Spetsnaz. Also, EKIA and play of the game features are back, and according to the YouTuber, the movement in the game feels similar to Black Ops 4, and the time to kill is much faster than in BO4. Additionally, the dead silence perk will return in COD: BOCW.

As of right now, we don’t know how many game modes will be a part of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer, nor do we know what the maximum player count will be for its different modes. Of course, last year’s Modern Warfare increased the player count on its ground war mode to 100+, so it’s probably safe to assume that it’ll be the same, if not larger, in Black Ops Cold War.

We do know that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will have cross-play support as well as cross-gen support, meaning that if you have a PlayStation 4 but want to play with a friend who has an Xbox Series X, you’ll be allowed to do so.

Also, instead of trying to revive Blackout, Treyarch will add to the already existing Call of Duty: Warzone, as Infinity Ward’s Geoff Smith explained during a recent interview with Games Radar.

“Although Warzone is very closely tied to Modern Warfare, it was designed from the beginning as its own game,” said Infinity Ward’s design director. “As the game continues to be updated over time, it will evolve and become tied to other games in the Call of Duty universe.”

The full multiplayer reveal for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will happen on Wednesday, September 9. After that, we’ll only have the game’s release date to look forward to, as the game will launch on current-gen consoles on November 13, with the game’s next-gen release date TBA.
