Blizzard has recently added a sizeable number of epic Bind-on-Equip items to the beta for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, injecting a huge amount of gear into the upcoming expansion for players to chase.

In case you aren’t aware, items tend to come in two different categories: Bind-on-Equip (BoE) and Bind-on-Pickup (BoP). There are, of course, plenty of items that don’t bind to a player at all, but these are typically less rare, less desired, or simply consumable items.

A BoP item will immediately bind to a player, making it untradeable and unauctionable for money. A BoE item won’t bind to a player at all until they’ve equipped it, making it so that the item can be traded to others or sold for gold on the auction house.

Recently, Blizzard added a huge injection of BoE items, which many are saying will likely be one of the major funding forces in the economy of the upcoming expansion. There’s quite a few, so we won’t be going over each individually in this piece.

One notable piece, though, is a pair of plate gloves for classes that are able to wear plate – Death Knights, Paladins, and Warriors, for example. These gloves are named in honor of streamer and mental health advocate DesMephisto, named Desm’s Fistos.

Another, which will likely become one of the more desired items, is a trinket titled the Relic of the First Ones. This trinket reduces the cooldown on the signature ability of your covenant.

These items are global drops, meaning that they’re able to drop anyway in the Shadowlands. There are twenty-nine all in all, with something for every class and every spec, meaning that they’ll likely be seen quite often until better gear comes out later on down the line.

The bulk of these drops are weapons, with ten epic BoE weapons added today. There’s one trinket, one amulet, two rings and cloaks, three pieces of armor for cloth, leather, and mail, and four pieces of plate armor.

This is far from an exhaustive list of all the epic BoE’s we can expect to see in the Shadowlands. There are already some in the game, and Blizzard will almost undoubtedly release more. Still, seeing this many added at once is enough to make a gold farmer’s mouth water.

With any luck, the drop chance won’t be so low on these that most of us never see them. Either way, you’re bound to see one turn up before long either way, whether you’re lucky enough to get the drop yourself or snag it off of the auction house.
