The game of Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been out worldwide enough, and people are now still finding new ways to high-key dominate the game. The official Assassin’s Creed Twitter account asked for fans’ picks off of those very first tips and tricks that were tossed down to new players, and the replies were–a mixed bag of advice, at best, and just utter chaos.

Anyhow, real tips. VeiLByte told the newbie AC Shadows players to scout from shadows, mark targets, and use verticality in their approach. Also, it advised learning to master both Naoe and Yasuke because sometimes you balance stealth and brute force. Now with even more seasoned knowledge, this game involves some lune and weather-variable factors, and selecting the right time for your kills can mean the clean kill or a slow walk of a thousand guards. Who knew?

Higgs wanted to add so much more: this list has to be endless: level knowledge ranks, get all the tools, and also remember that kunai pierce doors and canvases for stealth kills. Oh, and light all the lamps in kofuns—that way you won’t get lost. Because nothing is worse than being lost in a tomb with no way out. Trust us.

La Red de Erudito de rigueur: “MAKE THEM BLEED.” Bleed status effects first, light armor infused with tool bleed properties second, and shurikens to finish the job literally. Gruesome? Yes. Effective? Hell yes.

Others did not lend help. Cristia00066720 called the game “gay and retarded,” while LumiereEtoile suggested the time-honored solution: uninstall and play something better. We do not think those were terribly helpful to anyone trying to get into the game.

There were bugs reported, by the way. Wildprotons claimed their Animus challenges never came up, and logan_wilson93 was still disgruntled about every single sign-in prompt. Ubisoft, you might want to fix this? Just saying.

Maximum parody ensues: because how would an Assassin Creed discussion ever be complete without someone chiming in for the billionith time, insisting that “There are no assassins in this game”?

Mixed reactions aside, it is fair to say AC Shadows definitely still maintains a bunch of diehard players willing to sadly impart hard-earned wisdom upon others. Whether you are a stickler-for-stealth or more of a bat-style brawler, this game surely has a little something for everyone. Just don’t forget to light the lamps, seriously.

So for anyone jumping into AC Shadows for the first time, go on by the tips—or just go free spirit and figure it out for yourself. Either way is fine, just have fun and try not to bleed on everything. Unless you’re into it.
