So you are playing Assassin’s Creed Shadows and keep getting killed by traps and bosses and combat desync. Well, quite a few players are neck deep in this situation. Ubisoft’s official Assassin’s Creed Twitter account gave some community-expert advice-through @TomiShinobi and @ACFirstCiv-on how to stop dying so much. A lot of people apparently needed it, judging from the replies.
The question on the original tweet was whether people were accidentally firing traps, stepping into boss fights unprepared, or simply having combat synchronization issues. Then, there was a tease about the AC veterans having wisdom to bestow. This led to a flurry of replies from players either thanking the account for the advice or begging for more fixes.
JohnnyGaming responded very honestly, “Didn’t know that! Thanks!” While Monkfish wondered, “Wait what didn’t know that was a thing!” So whatever this mystery tip is, is news to a lot of players. But not everybody was happy about it, at which point Luca⚽ replied, “PLEASE return to the fighting mechanisms back to the one of Syndicate.” Oof. Someone isn’t feeling the new combat.
Ron the Runner, meanwhile, wanted to know the fastest way to make in-game dollars for gear and hideout accessories. Players such as Raaay_4 and Alexander keep begging for New Game Plus news, with the latter saying, “Hopefully, the new game plus comes out really soon. I want to replay the game.” Big mood.
And then there’s Kamen Riders NEXT from the French comments, which seems to mean something along the lines of “once eliminated the leader of a bandit family without meaning to and then the last revenge seekers appeared very quickly.” That’s, like, a very common Assassin’s Creed problem. Classic.
Some complaints got pretty specific. Than ever brought up a visual one: “Please optimize the flickering of distant mountains and vegetation when using Balanced Mode with PSSR enabled on the PS5 Pro. It’s highly distracting!” While Gameplay Videos8 suggested, “You should give more health packs as Naoe has 3 and Yasuke has 5.” Balance issues, huh?
The possibly funniest reply was lycanwarlord sarcastically asking whether Ubisoft “Accidentally” got bought out by Tencent or has failed to sell enough copies to cover the development costs. Oof. And then JackWrestler praises the Turkish support, almost proving that localization matters.
The Dead by Daylight crossover happens, right? The official account replied, “Step into The Fog. A new Dead by Daylight quest begins.” Strange but okay.
By the end of the day, it is quite clear the players are enjoying Shadows, but some things are becoming sore spots. Combat mechanics, progression systems, or even just bugs, the community surely has a loud mouth about all those things that need fixing. At least they managed to provide some tips to help players stop falling forehead-first into traps. Small victories.
Then again, the real biggie: When does New Game Plus drop? Because a whole bunch of you are more than ready to jump into it. Just…maybe wait on those combat mechanic tweaks if you’re having such a hard time. Or don’t. Your funeral. Literally.
