Bandai Namco and Slightly Mad Studios have announced Project Cars 3 will be released onto PC and consoles later this year. The game is the third installment of the car customization and racing series.

A short announcement trailer was launched as well as the official website. The website details some of the new features coming to the game, as well as changes from previous installments.

Project Cars 3 will include over 200 elite-brand race and road cars. There are over 140 global tracks, as well as customization options. The developers have added new modes to expand on the driving experience.

A new Career Mode lets players work their way up from “Weekend Warrior” to “Racing Legend.” There are also new multiplayer and community modes to race against other players. Drivers can keep coming back with daily challenges to earn more experience.

Players can begin their own journey to success. There are hundreds of cars to buy and own. All of the cars can be upgraded with realistic performance parts. Even the drivers and liveries are customizable to make players have a more personalized experience. The Project Cars 3 team has confirmed the return of the NSX and NSX GT3, plus the race Autódromo José Carlos Pace, also known as Interlagos, in São Paulo.

Driving has also become more advanced. There are 24-hour cycle days with dynamic seasons for all-weather driving. No bad weather can keep players from completing the race, but their vehicles will need to be equipped with the right accessories to win the race.

AI has been improved for more realistic racing. However, racing comes at a cost. There’s intense crash effects plus collisions which may completely total cars players have invested hard-earned money into.

PC players will receive a few additional features, such as 12K graphics and VR support.

The official website doesn’t have a list yet of all the locations and cars that will be featured in the game. The social media accounts have hinted at some of the content to come, along with high-resolution photos. Players can follow the official Projects Cars social media accounts to learn about what new cars will reappear in the game, along with a preview of the race tracks.

Project Cars 3 launches August 28 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
