Koei Tecmo has announced a new contest to get fans further involved in the game. The contest will be open for fans in Japan, Asia, and North America/Europe.

Starting on February 14, Koei Tecmo announced a “What If” scenario contest. Fans could submit their original scenarios to the company. Winners would have their scenarios included in the game as paid DLC.

Examples that Koei Tecmo listed include “What is Cao Cao lost in his battle to control the government?” to “What if all of the female warlords joined together?”

The applications must include the name of the scenario, a general overview, start year and month, and details such as who appears in it plus the kingdom the story focuses on. General registration information includes which platform the game was purchased on.

Previous Dynasty Warriors games have also included “What If?” side stories featuring characters from the main storyline. The stories are not canon to the series but are an exciting look at what could have happened during the time period.

The contest runs until March 31. After the contest closes for entry, the development team will review all of the entries. The winning entry will be developed and released as a paid DLC, which will be included in the Season Pass.

The story proposals must be written by the person submitting the. The stories can only include the 1,000 warlords that already appear in the story.

The winner is scheduled to be announced on April 24.

The Romance of the Three Kingdoms series is also celebrating its 35th Anniversary this year.

In Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV, “The vast land of China is represented a single realistic map, with the characteristics of the land replicated beautifully in CG. The vast map is comprised of 46 cities and approximately 340 regions. The regions are collections of detailed territories, and the struggle for land is intuitively expressed through a color scheme. Players can conquer territories to unite the land and fly their colors more elaborately and more freely.” states the Steam store.
