FromSoftware has dropped an enigmatic teaser once again for the dark fantasy expansion. And Soulsborne fans are wheezing with excitement. Dark fantasy brutality is promised in the official tweet: “crush the dark abominations,” “let your shield be the bastion of hope.” But any meaningful conversation gets drowned as echoing cries of “Where are the character trailers?” and debates on whether Godrick was tough enough to appreciate the poetry take center stage.
Bandai Namco airs the release for the newest expansion, Elden Ring Night Reign, claiming to make the base game appear to have been made for toddlers’ tea party. However, it seems as if half of the community could instead be spending time clamoring for scenes of the Revenant class or complaining about artificial difficulty rather than clicking on the purchase link. Classic Souls fans can’t live with them, nor can they resist invading their worlds or at least being parried to death.
If there were not enough Wars already, the comment section certainly is one! Animosity started when DonHaci tagged Godrick’s fight with that damned artificial difficulty that has gotten some 37 nested reply chains of people calling it bait for “skill issues,” or sincere debates over reaction times, or just trolling with clown emojis. Meanwhile, in the background, Erram082, is still doing lord’s work explaining attack patterns to the same bunch who will probably panic roll right into grab attacks anyway.
But really, WHERE ARE THE CHARACTER TRAILERS? User B00CH4NG perfectly voiced all of the fan’s feelings: “Yall came out with character trailers every Wednesday for yall to stop when the two most anticipated characters were up come on I’m losing hair over here.” Mood indeed. The replies are flooded with begging for anything from Revenue class footage, Wylder reveals, or literally anything other than one more shot of that birdman reading books (which vgman94 has predicted will go viral).
Spanish fans are hyped too, as iamibarlin05 says, “este juego va a ser un disparate,” while Gianluc26413461 comes back with, “que no tengas amigos no es problema del juego.” Apparently, Elden Ring talk surpasses language barriers.

While the masses drown in arguments, the real ones know that Night Reign is gonna deliver that signature FromSoft pain we secretly crave. That teaser is mad spooky, “dark abominations,” “bastion of hope,” all that good stuff. Whether you are there for the lore, masochism, or the melting of streamers, the pre-orders going live translates to suffering around the corner. Maybe throw an angry Tweet to FromSoft about the missing character trailers while you wait.
