With DOOM newly released, an exciting blockbuster announcement came in from NVIDIA for its star-promotion giveaway: a hand-painted GeForce RTX 5090 celebrating DOOM: The Dark Ages. This is not just any graphics card with a non-worthy paint job-the superlative DOOMman paint glory included embedded ray tracing, support of NVIDIA DLSS 4, and Reflex! In its own words, the card is “savage fun” and just the glam tool to gorgeously take out those demons.
To join, simple: Like the tweet, comment #RTXON, and pray that RNG is all with you. Apocalypse soon followed as fans began littering the replies, ranging from cries of desperation to outright insane hype. @Iamtutut went all Gollum on us with “#RTXON it is minessssssssssssssssssssssssssss”, ready to throw down with anyone who stood in the way of his claim. Then @Therrion1976 got in, “I’m still rocking liquid-cooled GTX 1080 SLI… I need an upgrade.” Brother, same.”
The winners? @ZjcvKk gave an ominous warning: “I need this or I’m gonna have to hit my wife,” yikes. @Z0TAV, meanwhile, gave us his best “The Landlord keeps raising the rent on me bro!” crying. That desperation is all too real for the people.
But it was not groveling all the way. Some felt the need to roar their excitement into the world. @Rushium97 quoted a famed DOOM expression, “RIP AND TEAR #RTXON,” while @NolenSanders joked that the card would help him “easily dispose of the spawns of Hell.” Pretty much true. Let’s be real; this GPU could probably even run Crysis.
Even more perfectly timed, DOOM: The Dark Ages is shaping up to be a real showcase for gorgeous visuals, and NVIDIA is doing everything it can to chip away at this. RTX 5090 isn’t even out in the market yet; imagine winning it now and becoming the very first owner of this beauty. Bragging rights for life.
So, what’s the catch here? I don’t see any; except that you are up against thousands of others. Nobody can lose forever, so you might as well be one of the lucky ones. Please, don’t tag your wife in case you don’t win.
