Unfortunately, I must leave 343 and attend to a family medical emergency, so while I had intended to continue with Halo until we published the Winter Update, I am letting you know that I will be departing.

Everything from Halo Infinite to the Master Chief Collection to the Halo TV series and beyond—everything that 343 Industries has accomplished has made me really proud. It’s been a privilege to work with the team for the past 15 years and to contribute to a world I care deeply about.

To everyone who has supported Halo, we are grateful. The future of Halo seems quite promising. In October, during the Halo World Championship, I hope you will all come out to see what we have in store and to cheer with us.

Ross had a critical role in developing the Halo series into what it is today. Upon leaving Microsoft in 2007, Bungie fought with her bosses at Microsoft Game Studios (now Xbox Game Studios) to keep Halo as a first-party game rather than license it to third-party developers.

As a result, studio 343 Industries was founded to work only on future Halo projects. The success of Halo 4, Halo 5, The Master Chief Collection, and Halo Infinite may be attributed to Ross’s direction of the franchise.

To everyone who has supported Halo, we are grateful. According to Ross, Halo has a promising future. When the Halo World Championship finally rolls around in October, I will be there to cheer you on as a fellow fan and share in your excitement about what we have in store.
