The Korean rating agency has assigned an age rating to a new Silent Hill game, though no official statement has been made. It has been ten years since the last game in Konami‘s famous survival-horror series, leading many to conclude that the company has given up on the I.P. and its other successful video game franchises. When P.T. was notoriously removed from the airwaves and Silent Hills was officially canceled in 2015, it was the last time the Silent Hill franchise appeared in the video game industry.

Fans have been hoping for a new Silent Hill game for years, and rumors have circulated constantly. Finally, sources have indicated that a Silent Hill revelation will occur in September, which has led to a flurry of conjecture based on purported leaks. This window of opportunity is closing quickly, but similarities across the many sources make it appear more plausible that Konami is planning something significant for Silent Hill and that it may reveal these intentions sooner rather than later.

The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea have rated Silent Hill: The Short Message, which has yet to be announced, on their list of ratings for future games. Unfortunately, the listing needs to detail which platforms are supported. However, it does verify that UNIANA is the publisher. UNIAN is a Korean video game publisher that has released several Konami titles, notably the infamously unfinished eFootball 2022.

An official reveal becomes increasingly likely as enthusiasts put together a more significant part of the Silent Hill puzzle. The Silent Hill movie’s director also gave fans an update in an interview, indicating that Konami was relaunching the series and that his forthcoming Silent Hill film would be a part of it. However, he also said the film would come out in 2023, so Konami will have to spill the beans soon.
