Blizzard has released another cinematic trailer for the upcoming World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion, showcasing the five primary zones in the game. Players were treated to a little bit of gasoline on the fires of hype today so close to the release of the expansion.

The cinematic goes through Bastion first, showing Ascended of the Kyrian covenant taking flight together. Here, we’re given a taste of the swelling music and virtuous aesthetics that fill the land of the holy covenant.

From there, we see the scenes shift to the fae-filled land of Ardenweald, a stampede of what seems to be dryads and centaurs marching below. As the Winter Queen overlooks them with a sorrowful expression, she takes a more resolute visage before flaring her cape.

In the flare of her cape, we transition to the land of Maldraxxus, where the Necrolords are waging war against each other. Familiar structures that take the shape of the Scourge Necropolis buildings players are familiar with in the form of Naxxramas and Acherus march across a battlefield.

From there, the cityscape of Revendreth is seen as we’re taken into Castle Nathria, where the corrupt noble lord that we’ll be taking down for our first raid drains Anima from lost souls. Picking one up, he throws the unlucky individual off his balcony and into the Maw.

There, we get our final scene, with the camera transitioning into the fog and coming out in the Maw, the darkest depths of the Shadowlands. There, we see the Jailer, ironically chained up and struggling against his bonds with a sadistic grin.

It’s likely that this cutscene takes place – lorewise – before the events that send us to the Shadowlands, given that the Jailer is still, funnily enough, jailed. Since the events of the expansion are kicked off by Sylvanas shattering the Helm of Domination to enter the Shadowlands and free the Jailer, it’s the most likely hypothesis.
