Minecraft has only been gaining players during the pandemic, the active monthly players have risen to 131 million from the original 126 million active monthly players. This increase in players has led to a large amount of interest in players and content creators.
This increase in interest has allowed Minecraft content creators to create new series, one example is how the Minecraft YouTuber DanTDM have created a new Minecraft ultra hardcore series. This new series utilizes a variety of mods to make beating the Ender Dragon substantially harder when compared to how easy beating the Ender Dragon has become in normal Minecraft.
Another dedicated Minecraft creator, by the name of Rivero, has been creating Zelda: Ocarina of Time in Minecraft. He has been slowly recreating this beloved game since 2013, and currently has up to Gannon’s castle completed and playable.
This recreation looks fantastic and is stated to be completely free once completed by the Minecraft player, Rivero. Rivero has stated “essentially an exact replica of Ocarina of Time” with the bosses, story, and items all accounted for.
This recreation includes more than just locations but also various items that Zelda: Ocarina of Time has become well known for, like the Lens of Truth and the Master Sword!
Sadly, this recreation won’t feature reliving battles or the Master Quest mode which won’t be featured in the recreation, but even without those features, this looks to be a fantastic recreation for any Zelda player.
Rivero stated, “Back when I first started, it was just getting the motivation, It’s a pretty daunting task when you attempt to make an entire game by yourself.”
Rivero also stated, “Though, more recently, I’d say it was creating fog in the Haunted Wasteland, which is a place the player has to go through to make it to one of the dungeons. Creating the fog was very difficult because it required me to learn how to make shaders without mods since the whole map is purely vanilla Minecraft.”
Rivero currently has a playable demo which includes up to Gannon’s castle on his Patreon for free, but if any downloader wants to support Rivero in his fantastic venture to recreate the Zelda: Ocarina of Time in Minecraft then his Patreon is an easy way to support him.
Players can also go check out Rivero’s YouTube channel to see this fantastic recreation in action as he plays through the map that he is slowly creating!
