A staple character in the Mortal Kombat games is Princess Kitana. She’s played such a pivotal role in the comics, movies, and video games. It only makes sense that she would be appearing once again in Mortal Kombat 11, which is set to hit the market on April 23.

There is so much buzz around this 11th installment, and much of this has to do with all of the character reveals and breakdowns fans have been treated to. We recently got another character spotlight for Kitana, and right away, she looks like an amazing character to play with.

To start off, Kitana looks to have more detail than we’ve ever seen her have. That’s pretty much the direction NetherRealm Studios has gone in with most of their character designs. Kitana is even more beautiful in this 11th installment and her voice seems very poised. She’s sporting a blue bandanna and blue patterns down her costume. It’s pretty much a flawless representation of Kitana.

If you thought her looks were amazing, wait until you see her moves. Her fan blades are super effective from pretty much anywhere on the stage, including long-distance and up close. They’re not just effective at offense either. Now, they can be used to absorb projectiles from enemies — giving her added damage on her next blow. This defensive design should come in handy against opponents who like to stand far away and spam projectiles.

Another combat design that stands out with Kitana is her fluidity. Her combinations look so smooth and chaining them together looks effortless. In terms of her own projectiles, she can send her flan blades at varying depths depending on where her opponents are positioned.

She also appears to have Mileena’s dagger, which is surrounded by a pink aura. Does this mean that Mileena won’t be in this 11th installment? We’ve seen something similar happen in Mortal Kombat X, where Jade sported one of Kitana’s weapons. Hopefully, this isn’t the case. Mileena is such a pivotal character for the series. Maybe, she’ll be a downloadable character.

From everything that was shown, Kitana looks like a force to be reckoned with right out of the gate. You can bet she’ll play a major role in the story, and she more than likely will be a fan-favorite in online play. NetherRealm Studios has added some amazing characters to MK11’s roster, and they have just two more open spots to reveal.
