PQube has announced that the JRPG Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Infinite Combate will be released in North America and Europe this August. The release date was announced through a new trailer that introduces some of the characters who will appear in the upcoming game.
Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (also known as its abbreviated title DanMachi in Japan or Familia Myth in North America) began as a light novel series written by Fujino Omori and illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda. The success of the light novel led to an anime tv show and OVA adaptation.
The series follows the story of Bell Cranel and Aiz Wallenstein. Both characters are fighting through increasingly difficult dungeons but with different reasons. Bell is a young solo-adventurer working under the goddess Hestia. He’s a hard worker and continues to work on improving himself. Aiz is a famous swordswoman who once saved Bell’s life, and someone he looks up to throughout the story.
The story takes place in the land of Orario, a city where Gods are living on Earth and challenge humans in various residents. Players can become a Familia, who services a resident deity who helps others grow as an adventurer. Another option is to become an adventurer who defeats monsters in a labyrinth created by the Gods.
The story mod follows Bell and Aiz’s stories within dedicated chapters. The story follows the story but also includes some never seen before content to delight fans new and old. When players need a break from the main story, there are plenty of side stories to enjoy.
Players level up after fighting in battles and moving through an extensive skill tree in the JRPG. Characters are customizable with specialty crafted equipment and more to make them more powerful in battle.
The game was previously released in Japan in February but came with English, Traditional and Simplified Chinese subtitles. It was bundled with a bonus game code for a shooting bonus game and a plastic file folder with artwork from the series.
Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Infinite Combate launches on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch first in Europe on August 7 and later in North America on August 11.
