With World of Warcraft: Shadowlands approaching rapidly, players have been excited to get their hands on the new Covenant powers that are going to be featured in the expansion. Blizzard has slowly released these powers and traits, with all twelve Soulbinding options now known.
Knowing these Soulbinding options helps players plan which of the Covenants they intend to pledge their allegiance to. With so many options available, it’s important to analyze what each Covenant offers to help plan out your endgame options.
The good news is that, if you do regret your choice, Blizzard has stated that changing to a different Soulbinding or Covenant will be an easy task. While an easy switch, it won’t be one without consequence, so knowing what you’re getting into is still vital.
Recently, Wowhead released a calculator to help calculate what the effect of Soulbinding can be. With all of the traits laid out for this calculator, it’s an excellent chance to analyze each and every Covenant to see what’s available.
In this article, we’ll be discussing the three different Soulbindings available for the Kyrian Covenant. Based in the pristine and heavenly realm of Bastion, the Kyrians offer a wide array of powers to those pledged to their cause.
We now have the full list of #Shadowlands soulbind effects, and some are pretty interesting like:
-Effects of combat potions last 10 to 100% longer.
-Benefits of Well Fed, Flask, and weapon enchant effects increased by 15%.Which ones stand out to you?https://t.co/aqPcu5SDSU

The first soulbinding will lead you to Forgelite Prime Mikanikos, granting eight different traits. These traits are a powerful set that seem to be focused on tanking and healing utility, with only one doing anything to increase damage.
Instead, Mikanikos will help with reducing damage taken and healing what damage still comes through. One trait, Resilient Plumage, will decrease fall damage taken and then decrease the damage you take for eight seconds.
Next is Kleia, who provides a few more damage options but still holds the protective theme of Bastion. Kleia seems an effective Soulbind for those that play in groups, with traits like Mentorship causing you to increase the max health of nearby party members by 5% when you yourself are above 90% max health.
Last is Pelagos, who provides a variety of buffs through the available traits that are primarily activated by defeating enemies. Pelagos also comes with some interesting utility, such as the trait Walk Together, which causes the Soulbind to send you crafting materials that increase for content completed while soulbound.
Overall, it seems that the Kyrian Soulbindings will be primarily focused on defensive utility and bonuses to allies. While this likely won’t cause you to take down enemies any faster, it’ll provide you with a fantastic group dynamic not too dissimilar from auras and defensive spells.
Tanks and healers may find this Covenant to be an excellent option for the utility on offer. That said, DPS classes may appreciate the extra survivability. However, very few options available of the three Soulbinds provide a tangible increase to DPS save for a handful of stat increases.
