The Cadence of Hyrule is getting an update from Nintendo to fix some bugs and add some new elements.
There’s a new leaderboard category for each co-op. When you used co-op during a run, for example, it will immediately be converted into a co-op for scoring purposes. There’s also a Beat Rumble feature, which supposedly vibrates your controller to the rhythm of the music.
Adjusts the collision action so the character won’t be able to breeze through dungeons and maps. You can also see the credits on the main menu now.
One cool addition was the adjustment to the HUD to make it easier for the color-blind to read the texts.
The other additions and fixes are:
– The movement pattern of the enemies when the wind pushes them against the wall
– The movement of the player when sliding on ice while pushing an object
– The movement pattern of the player when the wind pushes them while holding an object
– Fixed the bug that gives an extra edge to the enemy during a looped song
– Fixed the bug on the game time, which continues to tick even on sleep mode
– Fixed the bug that allows the bombs to be lifted even if they have already exploded
– Fixed the bug on the dagger/shortsword in the blue chest on “Flawless Victory”

Cadence of Hyrule is not your prototypical Zelda spinoff. The rouge-like RPG employs top-down gameplay, but you need to follow the music’s cadence to progress. Your movements must be to the rhythm of the music, or else you will fail. For instance, you will trip if you couldn’t follow the beat. As a result, you can be attacked by a monster.
You can use the music’s beat to defend, attack, and whatever action you want to make. In fact, if you fail to move to the beat, you can’t trigger an action.
Brace Yourself Games, the team behind Cadence of Hyrule is the same one that released Crypt of the NecroDancer. That game was originally released in 2015 on Linux and Microsoft Windows.
People loved the concept and the gameplay of Crypt of NecroDancer. The problem with NecroDancer, however, was that it was mercilessly unforgiving. Once you die, you start again from the beginning. Fortunately, that was scrapped in Cadence of Hyrule, which allows players to accelerate character progression.
Cadence of Hyrule was released in June 2019 for Nintendo Switch.
