Future-themed RPG from CD Projekt Red evolved from one of the most eagerly awaited games to serving as a warning to anyone trying to hasten the development of their game. The game’s release conditions and subsequent outrage were so severe that numerous platforms issued refunds, and Sony even removed the title from the PlayStation store.

Even though Cyberpunk 2077 is still playable on modern consoles and PCs almost two years after its release, it seems that the developers intend to expand the game’s modding community by releasing an official modding tool.

The modding community for Cyberpunk is quite substantial, with creators introducing features like the ability to keep stolen automobiles, access to inaccessible locations, and having Johnny’s look as it does in TTRPG, among many others.

In an effort to better connect with the Cyberpunk 2077 modding community, CD Projekt Red has now released REDmod as an additional DLC on GOG, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.

According to the creator, REDmod offers an official modding tool that will assist you in using, modifying, and creating your own adventures in the world of Cyberpunk 2077, such as specially made audio, graphics, scripts, and much more.

It also keeps adding effective services for installing and loading mods into the game. To make it compatible, it will be continuously updated in conjunction with game updates.

Additionally, it was mentioned that while using this tool makes adding new mods simpler, existing mods would still be supported even though they won’t show up in the REDmod menu, which seems reasonable.

In order to help the community become familiar with this new tool, Nexus Mods reached out to Vortex, one of the largest Cyberpunk 2077 modding groups.

In order to inform them of the modification and ensure that the extension would remain to be functional with other Cyberpunk mods we host, we have been in touch with the Vortex extension community developers, according to Nexus.
