Massive Xbox news from Microsoft, people have been buzzing ever since: Update for the Xbox app on mobile devices and synchronized with console players comes with this slick new streaming features. Hence, if you have an Xbox, consider yourself lucky today.

First, the Xbox is really doing the upgrade on mobile app, and before long, you will soon be able to purchase your games directly in the app, subscribe to Game Pass, and redeem those awesome Perks. No more switching devices just to get a brand new game. Everything will be available in your pocket. The day for the actual launch has not been given yet; however, “soon” is better than nothing.

But that was not all. The second big news was that “Stream your Own Game” would allow Xbox consoles streaming of the games. That, in short, means that just about anything that you are playing on your console can be streamed to the mobile phone or tablet. You won’t need any specific hardware or complicated settings–just start tapping. It’s something like remote play, just with extra Xbox flair.

Massive for anyone who has ever wanted to game while someone else has control of the TV. Or maybe just want to be able to lay in bed and grind some levels without being attached to the console. Either way, it’s made real easy by Microsoft for you to take your game.

And the timing is pretty interesting too. With cloud gaming going mainstream and rivals like PlayStation and Nvidia making a huge splash into their own streaming technologies, Xbox clearly wants to make sure they are not left behind. They double-up on making their ecosystem as flexible as possible. Buy your game on your phone, play it on the console, then streamed to your tablet when its so much more lazy fun. That is the dream, right?

But the question now is, how smooth really is this streaming? Xbox has been doing some great cloud gaming, but console streaming is a different kettle of fish. Lag could destroy your experience in super fast-paced titles. But let’s face it, if they get it right? Total gamechanger.

Oh, and by the way, those mobile app upgrades. Buying games while on the go is not new; PlayStation has been doing it for ages. But making it with Game Pass and Perks makes the whole feature quite useful. Just imagine buying a Game Pass deal while you are out and having it waiting for you when you get home. Download? What download?

Microsoft has given details about this through the blog connected to the tweet, but the gist simply says: Xbox wants to give players virtually all-input ways anytime. Whether it’s cloud, on a console, or mobile, they’re making sure that you’re just a tap away from your game.

So, watch out for this update. If it delivers as promised, it can comfortably fit into the range of life-amplifying upgrades. No excuses for finishing your backlogs now-anywhere anytime.

If anything, this may just be your excuse to finally get it. Able to do everything just through their phone adds yet another thing closer to nonexistent into an already very busy existence.
